WARRANTY NOTICE (AUSTRALIA ONLY)
THIS WARRANTY NOTICE (“this Warranty”) APPLIES TO GOODS PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM XIAOMI OR AN OFFICIAL RESELLER OF XIAOMI IN AUSTRALIA. THIS WARRANTY SERVES TO HIGHLIGHT PROTECTIONS OFFERED BY XIAOMI, IN ADDITION TO YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW AND OTHER APPLICABLE AUSTRALIAN LAWS. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT EXCLUDE, RESTRICT OR MODIFY ANY RIGHTS YOU MAY HAVE UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW OR ANY OTHER APPLICABLE LAWS IN AUSTRALIA. FOR A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS, YOU ARE INVITED TO CONSULT THE LAWS OF AUSTRALIA.
Please be reminded, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods.
If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion.
You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
1. LIMITED WARRANTY
1. Xiaomi Technology Australia Pty Ltd (“Xiaomi”) warrants that its products are free from defects in material, design and workmanship under normal use as described in the user guide during the warranty period.
2. This Warranty is valid only in Australia and applies exclusively to Xiaomi product purchased from Xiaomi or its official resellers in Australia (“Xiaomi product”). In any case, your rights under this Warranty apply only to the product manufactured by or for Xiaomi and identifiable by the “Xiaomi”, “Mi”, “Redmi” or “POCO” trademark, trade name or logo affixed to it. If you purchase product from unauthorised sellers, please contact the sellers directly.
3. This Warranty does not guarantee that the use of Xiaomi products will operate without interruption or be free from errors.
4. This Warranty applies only to the hardware components of Xiaomi products as originally supplied. It does not apply to any software or consumables or equipment of third parties, which may be subject to separate warranties or terms. However, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (including guarantees relating to acceptable quality and fitness for purpose) and other applicable Australian laws still apply to all Xiaomi products, where relevant.
2. WARRANTY PERIOD
The warranty period for this product you purchased is commencing from the date of original purchase, as shown on your proof of purchase, such as the receipt.

3. REMEDIES
1. If a hardware defect is found and a valid claim is received by Xiaomi within the warranty period, Xiaomi will either (1) repair Xiaomi product at no charge, use new or refurbished replacement parts, (2) replace Xiaomi product with a new or refurbished product, or (3) refund Xiaomi product.
2. Xiaomi products presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished Xiaomi products of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the Xiaomi products.
3. Any replacement hardware product will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or three months, whichever is longer, or for any additional period of time that may be applicable in your jurisdiction.
4. Replacement or repair of your Xiaomi product may result in the loss of data. Please ensure that you have made a copy of any data saved, stored or preserved on your Xiaomi product, it is likely that such data, software, or other materials will be lost or reformatted during service, and Xiaomi will not be responsible for any such damage or loss.
5. To make a claim under this Warranty, please contact Xiaomi Contact Centre at (TEL: 1800270852), When necessary, you will need to deliver the related product in its original packaging or similar packaging providing an equal degree of product protection, to the address specified by Xiaomi or Xiaomi Contact Centre or Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, Xiaomi may require you to provide proof of purchase. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, a claim will not be considered formally lodged until such proof of purchase has been received by Xiaomi or Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre. This requirement does not affect your statutory rights.
6. If, upon receipt and assessment of a claim, Xiaomi or Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre determines that your claim is valid under this Warranty, Xiaomi or Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre will repair or replace the product at no cost to you.
7. If, upon receipt and assessment of a claim, Xiaomi or Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre determines that your claim is invalid under this Warranty, Xiaomi or Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre may charge you for any labour, parts or transport costs incurred by Xiaomi or Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre in processing your claim.
4. EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
1. Unless stated otherwise, this Warranty does not cover any loss resulting from normal wear and tear, fire, water damage (including liquid spillage or ingress), theft, or infestation by vermin or insects.
2. The exclusion for water damage does not apply to Xiaomi products that carry a certified water resistance rating, which specifically refers to the certification of IP68. However, IP68 warranty coverage is depending on internal assessment of Xiaomi or Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre. The IP68 warranty coverage is excluded where evidence of exposure to seawater, beverages, hot liquids or any liquids ingress other than clean and fresh cold water is found. This exclusion does not affect your statutory rights under applicable Australian laws.
3. This Warranty does not apply to any damage caused by (a) acts of nature or God, for example, lightning strikes, tornadoes, flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes; (b) negligence; (c) commercial use; (d) alterations or modifications to any part of the product; (e) use with non-Xiaomi products; (f) accident, abuse or misuse; (g) operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Xiaomi or with improper voltage or power supply; (h) service (including but not limited to upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Xiaomi; (i) failure to follow instructions related to product usage (as outlined in the user guide/manual, on Xiaomi’s website, or in the manufacturer’s guidelines provided with or for the Xiaomi products).
4. Please back up and delete all personal information from your device before submission for repair to avoid any unexpected data loss. Please note that Xiaomi and Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre cannot be held responsible for any data loss that may occur during the repair process.
5. Recovery and reinstallation of software programs and user data are not covered under this Warranty. No Xiaomi’s official reseller, agent, or employee is authorised to make any modification, extension, or addition to this Warranty. If any term of this Warranty is held to be illegal or unenforceable, the remaining terms of this Warranty will remain in full force and effect.
6. Some models of Xiaomi products are sold with an International Warranty, you can check the following link (https://www.mi.com/global/support/xiaomi-iws/) to verify whether your Xiaomi product is provided with such International Warranty. Except where your Xiaomi product is sold with an International Warranty (https://www.mi.com/global/support/xiaomi-iws/), to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the service under this Warranty is valid only in Australia.
7. Products that were not duly imported and/or were not duly manufactured by or for Xiaomi and/or were not duly acquired from Xiaomi or a Xiaomi’s official reseller are not covered by the present Warranty. As per applicable law you may benefit from warranties from the non-official seller who sold the product. Therefore, Xiaomi invites you to contact the seller from whom you purchased the product.
8. This Warranty does not limit or affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable Australian laws with respect to Xiaomi products.
5. IMPLIED WARRANTIES
1. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, all implied warranties (including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) will have a limited duration up to a maximum duration of this limited warranty.
2. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on the duration of an implied warranty, so the above limitation will not be applied in these cases.
6. DAMAGE LIMITATION
1. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, Xiaomi shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, special or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue or data, damages resulting from any breach of express or implied warranty or condition, or under any other legal theory, even if Xiaomi has been informed of the possibility of such damages.
2. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of special, indirect, or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
