Why can the Xiaomi 15T Pro's waterproof function fail?

The Xiaomi 15T Pro supports IP68 dust and water resistance (dustproof level 6, waterproof level 8). Tested under laboratory conditions: no flowing water, water depth up to 3 meters, duration of 30 minutes, and temperature difference between water and device ≤5 °C.
Water resistance decreases over time due to wear, impact, extreme temperatures, or contact with acidic or alkaline liquids. It is not permanent. Charging in humid environments or submerging the device in water causes the waterproofing to fail, and such damage is not covered by the warranty.
