The power consumption of the watch is related to the daily use of the individual. For example, some special scenarios lead to an increase in the number of times the screen is lit up when the wrist is raised, frequent message reminders, heart rate detection functions that are turned on all day, etc., which will also lead to increased power consumption.
At the same time, the amount of current required for the heart rate detection of the watch will vary due to individual physical differences, resulting in differences in power consumption. You can turn off some unnecessary functions to improve the battery endurance of the watch.
For example, suppose you don't need to use the features (All-day blood oxygen tracking, Continuous monitoring for the heart rate, Stress monitoring and App notification). In that case, it is recommended to turn it off by referring to the steps: Go to the Mi Fitness APP >> [Device] >> [Fitness and health]/[Incoming calls and notifications].
1. Continuous monitoring of heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress leads to faster battery drain, with higher detection frequency causing faster power consumption. In Bluetooth mode, under heavy usage conditions with these features enabled, standby time is about 5 days, and a 20% battery drop per day is considered normal;
2. Frequent synchronization of phone notifications can lead to faster battery consumption. It is recommended to turn off unnecessary message sync notifications;
3. Enabling Always-on display (AOD), high-precision sleep tracking, and enhanced vibration can lead to faster battery drain. In Bluetooth mode, under heavy usage conditions with AOD enabled, standby time is about 3-5 days, and a 30% battery drop per day is considered normal;
4. The above scenarios do not include features like motion detection, gesture recognition, sleep rhythm, sleep apnea detection, and atrial fibrillation (AFib) monitoring. When these features are enabled, power consumption will increase because the algorithms and sensors need to remain active. You can enable or disable these features as needed.
Note:
In the Xiaomi Watch S4, the 15-day battery endurance statistic for typical usage does not include the power consumption from the Always-on display (AOD) feature. If AOD is enabled, the battery endurance could be reduced to about half of the original estimated duration.
