Ultrasonic humidifiers (with mist) can affect the particulate sensor values in an air purifier. Ultrasonic humidifiers disperse water into very fine mist particles, which have a similar diameter to various air particulates like PM2.5. The particulate sensor will misinterpret these fine water droplets as dust particles, resulting in higher or even erroneous readings.
When the ultrasonic humidifier is turned off, the readings will gradually return to normal values.
It is recommended to avoid using the air purifier and the ultrasonic humidifier simultaneously, or to place them at a considerable distance from each other, such as in different rooms.
Pure humidifiers (without mist) do not affect PM2.5 data.
