Face unlock and adaptive brightness are mutually exclusive. This means that enabling face unlock will automatically disable adaptive brightness, because they both use the front camera, however, for different purposes. If face unlock is active, it will prevent the adaptive brightness feature from functioning correctly because the camera is being used for facial recognition rather than light measurement.
If the adaptive brightness switch doesn’t gray out after enabling face unlock, try toggling face unlock again or updating to the latest system version.
Note:
To improve the using experience, the development process of the face unlock feature is relatively longer. This feature has been added through the OTA push. Please update to the latest system version to use face unlock.
