Why does pressing the screen increase battery consumption when the Xiaomi MIX Flip is in standby mode with AOD mode or double tap to wake enabled?

Pressing the screen activates these functions, causing the device to temporarily increase power usage to wake up the display. Even in standby mode, the phone performs background activities to maintain the AOD.
