Why is there a black border around the edge of the Xiaomi Gaming Monitor G27i screen?
The black edge is a design consideration, the scientific name is BM zone. The primary function is to prevent light leakage from the screen. If there is no black border on a screen, you will see a clear halo at the edge of the screen.
Note: BM is the abbreviation of Black Matrix (Black Matrix). For LCD panels, the colour from the red, green and blue colour filter (RGB CF), in order to control each individual display unit (such as an R; called sub-pixel), sub-pixel and the edge of the region between the existence of control signals alignment, in order not to let the alignment affect the display, in addition to the pixel (RGB three sub-pixels collectively referred to as the pixel) outside of the region, are made for the Black Matrix area.
