Why does the Xiaomi Portable Photo Printer Pro prompt to replace the ribbon?

One ribbon can print up to ten photos on the Xiaomi Portable Photo Printer Pro.
If the printer prompts you to replace the ribbon before the photo paper is fully used, please follow the steps below:
  1. First, check whether the ribbon is new or previously used;
  2. If the ribbon is brand new and the prompt appears immediately, it can be a false alert due to a ribbon fault. Try removing and reinstalling the ribbon properly, then restart the printer to see if the issue resolves;
  3. If the ribbon has been used before, the prompt can be accurate. This situation often occurs when a print job is canceled midway, causing the ribbon to advance without printing a photo;
  4. In such cases, the ribbon can run out before the photo paper. Replace the ribbon to resume normal printing.
