The mop pad of the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C can develop an unpleasant odor over time due to moisture, dirt buildup, or improper maintenance.
If the mop pad starts to smell, please refer to the following solutions:
1. Residual dirt and moisture can accumulate after cleaning, especially if the mop pad is not cleaned promptly. It is recommended to clean and air-dry the mop pad after each mopping session;
2. In high-humidity environments or seasons, the mop pad can fail to dry completely. Prolonged dampness can lead to a musty smell. To prevent this, regularly hand-wash and air-dry the mop pad to avoid moisture buildup and mildew;
3. Mop pads have a limited lifespan. After prolonged use, the fibers can lose elasticity and trap more dirt. If not replaced in time, the odor can become difficult to remove. It is recommended to clean the mop pad after each use and replace it every 3–6 months, or sooner if it shows signs of wear;
4. If there is dirty or stagnant water in the water tank, the mop pad can absorb the odor and release it during cleaning. Please check and clean the water tank regularly and always fill it with clean water.
