Why does the Xiaomi Oscillation Electric Toothbrush Pro fail to detect a change in tooth surface in smart oscillation mode?
The smart surface detection feature of the Xiaomi Oscillation Electric Toothbrush Pro relies on a six-axis gyroscope to track the brush’s orientation and distinguish between occlusal surfaces and other areas. It can fail to detect changes, due to your brushing posture.
To improve detection accuracy of the toothbrush, please refer to the following steps:
1. Keep your head steady and maintain a level position while brushing. Keeping your posture level allows the gyroscope to better track the brush’s movement and correctly identify different tooth surfaces;
2. Additionally, ensure proper brush angle by holding the toothbrush at 45° to the gumline, as recommended for optimal cleaning. If the brush is held too flat or at an extreme angle, the gyroscope will struggle to differentiate between surfaces.
