Why can’t WiFi download speeds achieve the advertised rates?

The WiFi download rate marked on the product is generally the "ideal laboratory rate": the advertised rate (such as the maximum Wi-Fi rate of Xiaomi 14T, which is Mbps) is the theoretical peak of the physical layer, which will be significantly reduced in actual use due to factors such as protocol overhead (such as packet encapsulation, verification, retransmission), signal interference, etc.
At the same time, the WiFi download rate is related to the number of antennas in the terminal device and the WiFi version. In actual use scenarios, the marked theoretical value cannot be reached due to factors such as the environment and actual network bandwidth limitations.
For high-throughput scenarios, it is recommended to test according to the following test conditions:
1. Network ports and cables that support rates exceeding the theoretical rate are required, routers that support WiFi 6 are required, and the bandwidth of 5G WiFi is set to 160Mbps;
2. A clean and interference-free test environment (shielded room);
3. Specific test tools;
4. The network bandwidth also needs to exceed the theoretical rate in the actual environment.
