Why does the preview stutter briefly when switching from 2x to 2.6x zoom with the Xiaomi 15’s rear camera?
The 2.6x zoom utilizes a dedicated telephoto lens, which means that when transitioning between 2x and 2.6x, the camera switches from one lens to another. Since different lenses have distinct focal lengths and sensor characteristics, this transition can cause a brief stutter in the preview.
To enhance the zooming experience, we have incorporated a smooth transition effect to minimize the impact. However, due to the nature of lens switching, it can not be as seamless as optical zoom on a single lens.
