The Redmi Note 14 5G supports memory extension. This allows the phone to use a portion of the ROM as virtual RAM. This can help improve multitasking and overall performance, especially when running resource-intensive apps or switching between multiple applications.
When the physical RAM is full, the system can temporarily offload tasks to the virtual RAM (part of the internal storage), allowing the phone to continue running apps more smoothly, even if the physical RAM is exhausted. This is especially useful when multitasking or running apps that require more memory.
The 6GB+128GB version supports 2/4/6GB of memory extension, with the default set to 2GB. The 8GB+256GB version supports 4/6/8GB of memory extension, with the default set to 4GB. The 12GB+512GB version supports 4/6/8/12GB of memory extension, with the default set to 6GB. Maximum support is 12GB, which needs an OTA version.
Note:
ROM greater than 10% is required for memory expansion.
