The resting heart rate is the number of times your heart beats per minute when you are in a calm, relaxed, and awake state, measured after waking up in the morning before getting out of bed. It reflects your cardiovascular health and overall fitness level. A lower resting heart rate indicates better cardiovascular efficiency and higher levels of physical fitness, while a higher resting heart rate can be a sign of stress, poor fitness, or underlying health conditions.
It is not recommended to measure RHR immediately after exercise, during stressful situations, or when the body is actively engaged in movement, as these conditions can elevate your heart rate, distorting the results.
