The following placements for your router are not recommended:
1. Inside enclosed metal boxes, like low-voltage panels or metal cabinets;
2. In obstructed areas, such as storage compartments within cement walls, behind furniture like sofas, or inside shoe cabinets and TV stands;
3. Near appliances that cause interference, including microwave ovens, induction cookers, computer power supplies, home generators, or wireless optical modems;
4. In peripheral areas of the house, such as balconies, bathrooms, or laundry rooms.
Recommended tips for optimal router placement:
1. Choose spacious, unobstructed locations, such as the top of TV cabinets or coffee tables;
2. Place the router near the center of the house for even coverage;
3. Position the router at least 1 meter above the ground, rather than placing the router on the floor;
4. Use the router upright to maintain optimal performance.
Note:
If there are still coverage gaps or dead spots after placing the router centrally, consider adding another device for Mesh networking to ensure seamless coverage throughout the house.
