The charging speed of the phone/pad is slow

The charging speed of the phone/pad is closely related to the ambient temperature and usage scenario.
If your device is charging unusually slowly, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Non-official chargers do not support Xiaomi’s proprietary charging protocols and do not match the device’s specifications, leading to suboptimal charging power. It is recommended to use the official charger for optimal performance;
2. Foreign objects or dirt in the charging port can lead to poor contact and slow charging. If you experience slow or intermittent charging, check and clean the charging port if necessary;
3. For personal safety and using experience, charging strategies adjust the current based on temperature. Charging speed will slow down in high or low temperatures. Charging speed will return to normal once the device’s temperature is within the recommended range;
4. If your device supports 120W or higher charging power, check if the Boost charging speed option is enabled. This setting speeds up charging within a safe temperature range. (Enable Boost charging speed: If your phone model supports this feature, go to [Settings] >> [Battery] >> [Additional features] >> [Boost charging speed]);
5. Devices enter a trickle charge state when the battery is close to full, leading to slower charging speeds as compared to when the battery is low, which is normal;
6. Charging speed can be affected by temperature and load. Charging while the screen is on is slower than when it is off. For foldable devices, the charging speed of the open state is faster than the closed state due to better performance in heat dissipation.
Note:
Testing data from Xiaomi’s laboratory was conducted at a standard environment temperature of 25°C with the device screen off and using the standard charger (120W charging requires Boost charging speed to be enabled). Actual results can vary depending on the system version and specific testing conditions.
