The black border is a design consideration, known as the BM (Black Matrix) area.
For your reference, here’s more information about the BM area:
1. BM stands for Black Matrix. Its primary function is to prevent light leakage. Without a black border, you would see noticeable halos at the edges of the screen;
2. In an LCD panel, color is generated by the red, green, and blue color filters (RGB CF). To control each individual display unit (such as a red subpixel), there are signal lines between the subpixels and in the edge areas;
3. To prevent these signal lines from affecting the display quality, areas outside the pixels (which are made up of the three subpixels of RGB, together forming a pixel) are designed as a black matrix region.
Note:
If the Xiaomi 2K Monitor A27Qi shows black borders randomly, it only occurs when switching display devices (or using a new monitor). Please adjust to an appropriate resolution for the new device. It is recommended to choose a resolution supported by the monitor to fill the screen, which is 2560 × 1440.
