If your device fails to connect to the Xiaomi Home App, please refer to the following methods:
1. Ensure both the app and your phone's system software are updated to the latest versions.
2. Most Xiaomi smart devices only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and cannot connect to 5GHz networks. If your router uses a combined dual-band signal, try separating the bands or switching to a 2.4GHz connection.
3. Avoid Wi-Fi names or passwords with special characters or Chinese characters, as this can cause connection failures. Move the device closer to the router to ensure a strong signal, and temporarily disable the router's blacklist or MAC address filtering settings.
4. Make sure the phone's Bluetooth is turned on and functioning properly. Also, ensure the phone's location service is enabled, as some devices require it for discovery.
5. Verify that the Xiaomi Home App has been granted all necessary permissions on your phone, including location, storage, and background activity permissions, which are often required for device discovery and setup.
6. Ensure that the region selected in the Xiaomi Home App settings matches the region where the device was purchased, as regional mismatches can prevent certain devices from being added.
7. Please turn off both your Wi-Fi router and the smart device and then plug them back in. This can clear temporary network glitches.
8. Perform a factory reset on the smart device according to its manual, then attempt the pairing process from scratch in the Xiaomi Home App.
9. Set up a mobile hotspot on another phone and try connecting the device to it. If this works, the issue likely lies with your home Wi-Fi network settings.
10. Attempt to pair the device with a different smartphone using the same Xiaomi account. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your phone's hardware or software configuration.
If none of the above steps resolve the connection problem, please contact the after-sales center for further assistance.
