XIAOMI WARRANTY NOTICE FOR SMARTPHONE

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS CONVEYED BY LAWS OF YOUR COUNTRY, PROVINCE OR STATE. INDEED, IN SOME COUNTRIES, PROVINCES OR STATES, CONSUMER LAW MAY IMPOSE A MINIMUM WARRANTY PERIOD. OTHER THAN AS PERMITTED BY LAW, XIAOMI DOES NOT EXCLUDE, LIMIT OR SUSPEND OTHER RIGHTS YOU MAY HAVE. FOR A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR RIGHTS WE INVITE YOU TO CONSULT THE LAWS OF YOUR COUNTRY, PROVINCE OR STATE.

This contractual Warranty applies only to the hardware components of Xiaomi Product (hereafter “Product”) as originally supplied and does not apply to any software or other equipment that are owned by Xiaomi or third parties for which an end-user license agreement or separate warranty/guarantee statements or exclusions are provided or intended to apply.

2. LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY

Xiaomi warrants the original purchaser that your Xiaomi Product shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty period. Except otherwise provided by applicable law, the warranty lasts and is provided for 1 years. Notwithstanding the foregoing clause, Xiaomi does not exclude, limit or suspend the minimum legal warranty period imposed by applicable law.

Xiaomi does not warrant the operation of the Product will be uninterrupted or error-free.

3. REMEDIES

If a hardware defect is found and a valid claim is received by Xiaomi within the Warranty Period, Xiaomi will either (1) repair the Product at no charge, use new or refurbished replacement parts, (2) replace the Product with a new or refurbished product, or (3) refund the Product, excluding potential shipping costs.

In the event of a defect, to the fullest extent permitted by law, these are your sole and exclusive remedies. Shipping and handling charges may apply except where prohibited by applicable law. Any replacement hardware product will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer, or for any additional period of time that may be applicable in your jurisdiction.

4. HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE

In accordance with applicable law, Xiaomi may require the customer to furnish proof of purchase details and warranty card with IMEI of the Product. It is your responsibility to backup any data, software, or other materials you may have stored or preserved on the product. It is likely that such data, software, or other materials will be lost or reformatted during service, and Xiaomi will not be responsible for any such damage or loss.

5. EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS

Unless otherwise stipulated by Xiaomi, this Limited Warranty applies only to the Product manufactured by or for Xiaomi, that can be identified by the "Xiaomi" or “Mi” trademark, trade name, or logo affixed to it.

The Limited Warranty does not apply to any: (a) Damage due to acts of nature or God, for example, lightning strikes, tornadoes flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes; (b) Negligence; (c) Commercial use; (d) Alterations or modifications to any part of the Product; (e) Damage caused by use with non-Xiaomi products; (f) Damage caused by accident, abuse, or misuse; (g) Damage caused by operating the Product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Xiaomi or with improper voltage or power supply; (h) Damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Xiaomi or (i) failure to follow instructions relating to the Product's usage.

Recovery and reinstallation of software programs and user data are not covered under this Limited Warranty. No Xiaomi reseller, agent, or employee is authorized to make any modification, extension, or addition to this Limited Warranty. If any term is held to be illegal or unenforceable, the legality or enforceability of the remaining terms shall not be affected or impaired.

Except as prohibited by laws or otherwise promised by Xiaomi, the after-sales services shall be limited to the country or region of the original purchase.

Products which were not duly imported and/or were not duly manufactured by Xiaomi and/or were not duly acquired from Xiaomi or a Xiaomi’s official seller are not covered by the present warranties. As per applicable law you may benefit from warranties from the non-official retailer who sold the product. Therefore, Xiaomi invites you to contact the retailer from whom you purchased the product.

The present warranties do not apply in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

6. IMPLIED WARRANTIES

Except prohibited by applicable law, all implied warranties (including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) shall be limited to the duration of this limited warranty. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on the duration of an implied warranty, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

7. LIMITATION OF DAMAGES

Except prohibited by applicable law, Xiaomi shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue or data, damages resulting from any breach of express or implied warranty or condition, or under any other legal theory, even when Xiaomi has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Redmi Note 14 - PREMIUM SERVICES TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.       SCOPE OF APPLICATION AND BENEFICIARIES

This offer is limited to selected Xiaomi smartphones (only applicable to the following specific models: Redmi Note 14 (hereinafter the “Product(s)”) purchased through any Xiaomi official sales channels (online or offline) and activated in the Territory of Kenya (hereinafter the “Territory”). This offer is provided by Xiaomi Technology H.K Limited, having its registered office at Suite 3209,32/F, Tower 5, The Gateway Harbour City 15, Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui Kowloon, Hong Kong (hereinafter “Xiaomi” or “we”). Only consumers that have purchased and activated the aforementioned Products are eligible to benefit from this offer (hereinafter “Beneficiaries” or “you”) at the conditions described below.

 

2.       AFTERSALES SERVICES

This offer will include the following additional after-sale services:

i.  One-time (1) free screen replacement or repair within 6 months from the date of first purchase of the Product by end user (please refer to point 4.1);

3.       PERIOD OF THE SERVICES

-  One-time (1) free screen replacement or repair: six (6) months from the date of first purchase of the Product by end user. The purchase date must be between the 20/1/2025 and 19/2/2025.

4.       SERVICES DESCRIPTION

4.1   One-time (1) free screen replacement or repair within 6 months

Beneficiaries who purchase the Product between the 2025/1/20 and 2025/2/19 are eligible for a One-time (1) free screen replacement or repair service during the first six (6) months after the date of first purchase of the Product by the end user (hereinafter, “Screen Repair Period”), if the screen of the above mentioned Products is damaged or faulty by a non-intentional action by end users (i.e. like non-intentional falling of the Product).

Such repair of the screen shall be free of any charge. If the Xiaomi Authorized Service Center assesses the screen should be replaced, such replacement of the screen shall also be free of any charge.

Beneficiaries might be requested to provide the invoice of the purchase or the delivery bill.

a)        Exclusions

This Service does not apply to or cover the following situations: 

  1. The serial number and/or IMEI number of the Product is damaged or has been removed or tampered with;

  2. The Product is a counterfeit and was not manufactured by Xiaomi;

  3. Damages to the screen are caused intentionally or with gross negligence;

  4. Damages affect only the surface of the screen, such as scratches or other aesthetic appearance of the screen;

  5. Damages are incurred by malware, unauthorized software or third-party apps used by the end users;

  6. The Beneficiary does not provide the invoice of the purchase or delivery bill where it is required;

  7. The defect is caused by a non-intended purposes of use or contrary to Xiaomi’s or the seller´s instructions, manuals or guidelines;

  8. The defect arises from the Beneficiary’s own or unauthorized repair/manipulation, or the use of non-authorized or non-original spare parts, software, or components.

This service is not also applicable to Products that, due to the damages or alteration of the screen, have to be replaced with a new Product. Such replacement will be subject to the legal warranty standards.

Nothing in this offer shall limit Beneficiaries’ rights under the applicable law.

5.       MISCELLANEOUS

5.1. Data Privacy: Xiaomi attaches great importance to our Users' privacy and is committed to ensuring the security of your personal information. Xiaomi strictly complies with all applicable laws and privacy policies for processing your personal information necessary to provide after-sales services (including maintenance, repair) to you.

For the purpose of providing with you the Services under this agreement, Xiaomi will act as the data controller and we will collect, store and use your strictly necessary contact information (name, phone number, email address, ID number) and the device information. Please note that we may share also this information with any of our Authorized Service Centers, if necessary.

5.2. The maintenance of some components may be required for replacement of spare parts. Therefore, the repaired products or parts may not be the original ones.

5.3. This offer is only applicable to the Products described above on clause 1. Other Xiaomi smartphones or products will not be eligible for this offer.

5.4. The Beneficiaries acknowledges that the general terms and conditions described on https://www.mi.com/global/support/warranty/ka/ remain applicable. In the event of a contradiction between this offer and the general terms and conditions, this T&C shall prevail. The offers are subject to Kenya Law.
