5. Q: How do I install and remove the band strap on the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro?

Attach the band strap:
Fasten the band strap to the band body, please pull the band strap to fasten it securely before wearing.
Removing the band strap:
Press the Quick-release button on both sides of the band, pull the band strap outward to separate it from the band body.

Replace the band strap individually:
1. Remove the band strap: Toggle the Ear rod and tilt the band strap outwards to separate it from the Quick release capsules.
2. Toggle the Ear rod and align the lug expansion pins with the lug holes at each end of the Quick release capsules to complete the installation of the new band strap.
Tip: After installation, please pull the band strap to make sure it is securely fastened. If the band strap is not adjusted to the proper length, the body of the device will not be able to fit the skin, which will affect the accuracy of data recording.

6.Q: Is the band strap of Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro compatible with other Xiaomi Smart Band?
A: No.
7.Q: Is the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro charging cable universal with other Xiaomi Smart Band?

A: Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro adopts 5ATM water resistant. When swimming in the pool without taking it off, you can enjoy playing in the water. However, it is not suitable for wearing in hot showers, hot springs, saunas and high-speed water flow sports and other scenes.
Note:Leather band strap and woven band strap are not suitable for swimming and other water contact scenarios and sweaty sports environment. It is recommended to replace the band with TPU rubber and other types of bands.

2. Q: How does the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro keep connected to the Mi Fitness app? (General Knowledge)

4.Nearby discovery: When the unpaired new band is near the mobile phone (only supported by some MIUI models), MIUI system will pop-up window to discover the device, and the mobile phone will pop-up box to prompt the device model, the last four digits of the Bluetooth address and the device map, you can directly click "Connect to this device".
Unpairing method:
Method 1 Unpairing in the device management list: when the band and mobile phone are connected, open Mi Fitness app-Device-View all devices-Press and hold Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro - Unpair, click "Unpair" to Unpair it, and the band will be restored to the factory. After Unpairing, the band will be restored to factory.
Method 2 Unpairing the current device: When the band and mobile phone are connected, open Mi Fitness app-Device-slide down to the bottom-Unpair, click "Unpair" to Unpair, and the band will be restored to factory after Unpairing.
Note:
If you can't find your band in the process of adding device or can't connect your band in the process of using it, please try to slide up and down on the page of the band to be bound, and select "Restore to factory" in the system operation interface, and then add the bound device again;
When the band is not bound, the screen will display "Download App to Bind band", you need to bind it to use the band function.
iOS device:

Unpairing in iOS:
Method 1 Unpairing in device management list: When the band and mobile phone are connected, open Mi Fitness app-Device-Wearable device-slide left to choose Unpair, click "Cancel to Unpair, and the band will be restored to factory after Unpairing.
Method 2 Unpairing the current device: When the band and mobile phone are connected, open Mi Fitness app-Device-Wearable device-slide down to the bottom- Unpair, click "Unpair" to Unpair, and the band will be restored to factory after Unpairing.
7.Q: Why does Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro fail to connect/bind?
A:Connection failure/binding failure may occur in the following situations, troubleshooting suggestions are as follows.
iOS mobile phone can't connect back, iOS system will clear the background after more apps are opened in the background resulting in. Suggestions are as follows:
Open Mi Fitness app to confirm whether you can connect back normally;
If you can't connect back, click the Connect button to check if you can connect back normally;
If you still can't connect back, make sure the device is connected to the Bluetooth of the mobile phone system, if it is connected, ignore the device to make sure if it is connected normally; if it is not connected, it is recommended to restart the band and try again;
If the device is not connected, we suggest restarting the band and try again. If the device is still not connected, restore the device to the factory, ignore the device in the Bluetooth system again, and the Mi Fitness app will scan and connect the device again.
After the band is restored to the factory, the mobile phone fails to connect after re-searching.
Confirm whether there is this device in the Bluetooth of mobile phone system, if there is, please ignore it, return to Mi Fitness app again, and follow the prompts to re-pair;
When there are three "x" signs in the binding, confirm whether the system Bluetooth is ignored, if there is this device in the system Bluetooth, please ignore it and try to connect again.
Under iOS connection status, the band end is restored to the factory, and the app fails to add the band repeatedly when adding the band again.
When the band is paired with iOS mobile phone, when the band is unilaterally restored to factory, and the app fails to add repeatedly when adding, you need to ignore this device in the system bluetooth first, and then retry again after that to make the pairing successful.
Android mobile phones do not open the background permissions, resulting in Mi Fitness app being cleared from the background.
In order to use the band better, avoid the one-click memory cleaning in Android system and some security software to clean up the process or block. It is recommended to keep Mi Fitness app running in the background, the path is as follows.
Enable the background privileges according to the guide when you pair the device for the first time.
After pairing, you can set up the background privileges in App-"Device"-"Enable background permissions" page according to the requirements.
The band can't search for the device after restoring the factory.
Cannot search for the device after unpairing, turn off and on the mobile phone system Bluetooth again.
Confirm whether there is a pop-up box prompting connection from nearby mobile phones, if so, you need to reject it.
6. The band or mobile phone has turned on the power saving mode.
After the device is turned on the power saving mode, it will turn off the Bluetooth of the band, disconnect the currently connected mobile phone, and can't connect back automatically.
After the mobile phone turns on the power saving mode, it may turn off the Bluetooth of the mobile phone, disconnect the currently connected band, and can't connect back.
7.Handling method when Bluetooth is disconnected or mobile phone is switched off during binding
If you turn off the Bluetooth of iOS mobile phone when binding, the band will pop up the interface of "Pairing Failure", Mi Fitness app will prompt the Bluetooth to turn off, and prompt to open the Bluetooth to re-scan, and turn on the Bluetooth of iOS mobile phone system again, the interface of binding failure will appear, and then click on the "Retry" pop-up box to re-bind the band. After re-opening the Bluetooth of iOS mobile phone system, the interface of binding failure will appear, click "Retry" again, and then re-binding can be bound successfully.
8. If you close the Bluetooth of Android phone when binding, the band will pop up the interface of "Pairing Failure", and Mi Fitness app will show the binding failure, if you click "Retry", the app will prompt you to open the Bluetooth prompt box, if you reopen the Bluetooth, the binding will be successful. If click "Retry", the app will prompt you to open the Bluetooth prompt box.
If the mobile phone is switched off or restarted during the bonding process, the "Pairing Failure" interface will pop up on the band, so you need to turn on the mobile phone and then re-bond the band.
Other reasons why the band can not be connected
In the disconnected state, the band is not restored to the factory settings in the app, it needs to be restored to the factory before the next binding, otherwise it can't be paired with a new mobile phone;
iOS mobile phone connected to the device, the device unilaterally restored to factory, iOS phone's Bluetooth will try to connect back to the device, the new phone has the probability of searching for the device (iOS mobile phone and the device will always be connected to the disconnected, in the connecting time period, the new phone can not be searched for; in the intervals of the disconnected, the new phone is just in the scanning state, can be searched for). Need to enter the old mobile phone iOS phone's Bluetooth, find the corresponding device has been connected, and ignore this device, at this time with the new mobile phone search pairing connection.
When the Android phone is connected to the device and the device is unilaterally restored from the factory, the Mi Fitness app will connect back to the device and prompt you whether to "Delete the device" or "Add", at this time, the new phone cannot search for the device. Click "Delete this device" on the old mobile phone, and then use the new mobile phone to search and connect the band.
8.Q: What should I do if my phone prompts me that the device has been bound by other accounts or apps when I bind the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro?
A:Searching for the band with the App will see the prompt that the device has been bound, another possible situation is that the App searches for other people's bands instead of your own band. During normal binding, when App searches for uninitialised band, the band will vibrate and display the prompt "Received binding request, allow or not?". when the app searches for an uninitialised band.
The troubleshooting steps are as follows:
If the band is used for the first time, please check whether the band is in the pending status, the page of the band in the pending status will prompt "Download App to bind the band".
During the binding process, does the band vibrate and prompt "Received binding request, allow or not", if the band does not prompt, the device is not your own device, please check whether there are other band devices around.
If the band does not prompt, it is not your own device, please check if there are other band devices around you. After successful binding, Mi Fitness app on your mobile phone will show "Add successfully", and your band will display band displays homepage.
9.Q: Does Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro support proximity discovery and tethering?
A: Support. Only MIUI system will pop-up window to discover the device, after the unpaired Smart Band is close to the mobile phone, the mobile phone will pop-up box to prompt the device model, Bluetooth address, and device map. The following conditions need to be met;
Mobile phone: you need to open the network, Bluetooth, quick connect to start searching for the band;
The path to open the fast connection: mobile phone Bluetooth-Additional settings-Pair compatible devices.
band: in unbound status;
band-phone distance: recommended to be within 1M.
10.Q: When Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is in use, does the Bluetooth need to be turned on all the time?
A: When Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is in use:
Pedometer, Sleep & Heart Rate Monitoring, Pressure/Blood Oxygen Detection, Breathing Training, Women's health management can be detached from the phone to record data independently, need to regularly connect the phone to sync the sports and health data, it is recommended to connect the phone to be able to record the trajectory when exercising.
Stopwatch, Alarm, calendar, world clock and other functions do not need to open Bluetooth all the time.
Incoming call notification, App notification, find my phone, schedule, weather, find band, music control, remote control photo and other functions due to the mobile phone needs to communicate with the band all the time, so you need to turn on the Bluetooth of the mobile phone, to keep the band connected with the mobile phone.
Note:
For better use of the band, it is recommended to keep the Mi Fitness app running in the background. In order to avoid the one-click memory cleaning in Android system and some security software cleaning process or blocking, please follow the requirements to set it in App-"Device"-"Enable background running permission" page.
iOS can not be added to the application background protection operation, app into the background is cleared background will not disconnect the system Bluetooth connection, message notification can be used normally, other synchronised data applications (weather, sports and health data synchronisation, schedule, etc.), you need to re-open the mobile phone Mi Fitness app to use.
When iOS opens the power saving mode, it will cause the stability of system Bluetooth connection to deteriorate, and disconnection may occur.
11.Q: What functions are affected when the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is disconnected from the phone? (General Knowledge)
A: Connection disconnection will affect the following functions:
Unable to update the band firmware in the App;
The band cannot update weather information, etc;
The generated sports and health data cannot be synchronised to the mobile phone at the first time, and the information will be lost after the band is restored to the factory;
Unable to receive mobile phone notification alerts, unable to Find phone.
12.Q: Why Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is disconnected from iOS phone for a long time and the band data is not synchronised?
A: When there are more apps running in the background, the background will be cleared. The device will be disconnected from the app, resulting in the data not being synced, and you need to enter the Mi Fitness app to sync the data back automatically. After the app is cleared, reopening the app will automatically reconnect the device and it will sync normally.
Reason for clearing background:
The reason why the background is cleared is that the running memory (RAM) is used up by the App. In order to free up enough running conditions for other newly opened Apps, the system must clear some of the Apps running in the background in order to free up RAM. the difference between models and iOS system software versions, the frequency of clearing the background will not be the same, take the iPhone 12 as an example, the RAM is 4GB, 4 Apps will be cleared in the background in the opening of the iOS16.3.1, and the background will be cleared in the upgrading of the iPhone to the iOS16.4. Quasi-official version, open 5-6 App will not clear the background (and specific App has a relationship, such as the camera occupies relatively large memory).
In the usual use of the process, pay attention to the following two points can reduce the frequency of the background is cleared:

Determine whether the app is cleared by the system:

If Mi Fitness app has not been cleared from the background, the app will still keep the page that was operated before exiting.
13.Q: Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro logs into the same Xiaomi account on multiple mobile phones, why the current mobile phone can't connect back & Mi Fitness app doesn't appear this device?
 A: There are the following reasons:
The current mobile phone cannot connect back, the old mobile phone has unpaired the device, the new mobile phone has not synchronised with the account, so it cannot connect back to this device;
Confirm which interface the screen of the band is displaying, if it is in the QR code interface or language selection interface, unbind the device in the Mi Fitness app of your mobile phone and re-scan the pairing;
Confirm whether the Bluetooth connection icon on the band is always on, if it is always on, use "Find phone" to confirm whether it is connected to the current mobile phone, if not, unbind the device on the app and use the current mobile phone to rebind the band.

If there is no such device in the device management page of Mi Fitness app of the old mobile phone, it means that the old mobile phone is unpaired with this device, and the new mobile phone will not display the band after logging into the same account and synchronising; if the band is in the QR code interface or the language selection interface, re-scan and pair;
the same Xiaomi account of two mobile phones to connect band, band restored to factory settings, use the new mobile phone to re-pairing, turn off the old mobile phone bluetooth, the new mobile phone if back to the connection is not possible, it may be that the new mobile phone did not automatically pull the new login and pairing information.
 Suggestion:
Please try to avoid logging into multiple mobile phones with one account;
If you can't connect back to your mobile phone, please turn off the Bluetooth function of other devices that have logged in the account and try again;
Please keep the network in good condition, clear the app and reopen it to trigger the cloud to re-send the login and pairing information to make sure the band can reconnect.
14.Q: Why does the App show disconnected when Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro connects to the device?
A: It may be that the Mi Fitness app is cleared in the background, so please make sure that all background running permissions of the app are enabled. There are 2 setting paths as below:
When the device is connected to the app for the first time, click on the "Go to Settings" button.
After the pairing, the app-settings- turn on the background permissions, according to the instruction to turn on. Choose the setting method, "Turn off power saving mode", "Select background "Unlimited"", "Allow apps to start themselves", "Background process lock" permissions are turned on or not.
15.Q: Why can't Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro be searched when connecting with a new phone after unilaterally restoring it to the factory?
A: Troubleshooting is as follows:

16.Q: Why can't the app connect when connecting Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro with iOS?
A: The connection may be disconnected due to over distance disconnection, switching Bluetooth on/off, ignoring the device in Bluetooth settings, etc. Please make sure the system Bluetooth has been connected.
Please make sure the system Bluetooth connected device has Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro, if it has, please click into it and then ignore the device before connecting.
If the connection is disconnected, or if you enter the app in the device reboot state and it shows that the device is being connected, but the connection is not successful for 5s, please try to manually click reconnect or clear the app and re-enter the app;

17.Q: Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro can't search the device after unpairing online, how to solve it?

Band displays related
1. Q: How to download/delete band displays on Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro?
A: When the band is connected to the mobile phone, you can download new band displays via Mi Fitness app.
Mi Fitness app: Device-Online. You can use it after downloading and importing.
Band displays deletion method:
band: band-Manage band displays-Long press for 0.7 seconds-Band displays edit page-Click delete icon
band: band-Settings-band displays change-click "Delete icon". 

App: Device-Manage band display-Local-Click the corresponding band displays-Click Delete.
Note:Deletion of default band displays is not supported (restoring the factory requires restoring the preset band displays, so it cannot be deleted here).
