Why does the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40 Pro sometimes collide with obstacles without slowing down?

If the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40 Pro sometimes collides with obstacles without slowing down, please refer to the following information:
  1. The device is equipped with LDS laser sensors and collision sensors, which allow it to slow down when detecting obstacles.
  2. However, small or dark-colored objects, such as chair / table legs or low obstacles, can not be easily detected. In such cases, the robot vacuum will rely on its mechanical bumper sensor, and a light collision is normal.
  3. Occasional light collisions are normal and help the robot vacuum confirm the size and distance of obstacles using its bumper sensors.
  4. To reduce collisions, keep the floor clear of small objects, and if possible, use virtual walls or restricted zones in the Xiaomi Home App.
  5. Regularly clean the robot vacuum’s sensors to ensure accurate detection.
