What to do if the map of the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C is skewed?
If you notice that the map generated by the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C appears skewed, misaligned, or rotated, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Strong reflections from mirrors, glass, or polished surfaces near the base of walls can interfere with the robot vacuum’s navigation and mapping accuracy. It is recommended to block the bottom 15cm of such surfaces to reduce interference;
2. If the map becomes distorted over time, such as overlapping rooms or abnormal rotations. Please go to Map management in the Xiaomi Home App and restore a previously saved historical map. During the next cleaning session, the robot vacuum will automatically rebuild the map;
3. Dirt or smudges on the robot vacuum’s sensors, especially the side of the navigation scanning module can lead to mapping errors. Regularly check and gently wipe the sensor area using a clean cloth or tissue;
4. If the issue persists after cleaning and restoring the map, try restarting or resetting the robot vacuum to refresh its system;
5. If none of the above steps resolve the problem, please submit feedback in the Xiaomi Home App. This will allow the technical team to assist you more efficiently based on the logs and device status.
