If the recorded video from your Xiaomi Outdoor Camera CW400 appears pink, the issue is caused by a malfunction in the infrared (IR) cut filter or abnormal behavior of the image sensor. The IR cut filter is responsible for switching between day and night modes by blocking infrared light during the day to maintain natural colors. If this filter becomes stuck or fails to function properly, it will result in an unusual pink or purple hue in the recorded footage.
To restore the camera’s video to normal color, please refer to the following steps:
1. To resolve this issue, first try restarting the camera. Power off the device, wait for a few seconds, and then power it back on;
2. Next, inspect the camera lens and surroundings. Ensure there are no obstructions, smudges, or reflective surfaces near the lens that interfere with the IR sensor or color rendering. Clean the lens with a soft cloth if necessary;
3. If the issue persists, try updating the camera firmware using the Xiaomi Home/Mi Home APP. Go to the device settings, check for any available updates, and follow the instructions to install them;
4. Should none of the above steps work, consider restoring the camera to factory settings. Press the reset button. A voice prompt will be heard once the reset is completed;
5. If the pink hue persists after a reset, it indicates a hardware issue. Please contact after-sales support for further assistance.
