What to do if photos are still in Recently deleted items after exceeding the retention period on the POCO X5 Pro 5G?

If your photos remain in Recently deleted Items even after exceeding the retention period, it is recommended to delete them manually.
Steps to delete photos are as follows:
1. Open your Gallery APP on your phone;
2. Switch to [Albums];
3. Enter [Recently deleted items];
4. Select photos you want to clear and then tap [Delete];
5. Additionally, if you want to clear all items in Recently deleted items, you can tap the trash bin icon at the upper right corner of the screen to delete everything at once.
Note:
This action will permanently delete all items from the cloud and all synced devices. It cannot be undone, so please proceed with caution.
You can also try the following methods to resolve this issue:
1. You can clear the Gallery cache and then reopen the Gallery to check if the issue is resolved;
2. Ensure your device is running the latest software version, as some updates can fix this issue;
3. Try restarting your device and then check the Recently deleted items folder again;
4. If the issue persists, you can use the File Manager to navigate to the storage directory and manually delete the photos;
5. If you have cloud sync enabled, try signing out of your account and signing back in to refresh the synchronization status.
Additionally, this issue is usually caused by system cache or sync delays and does not affect your other data. You can follow the steps above to troubleshoot, and in most cases, this will resolve the issue.
