Here is more information about the sound output on the TV:
1. HDMI (ARC) or HDMI (eARC) Connection:
(1). Output Settings: Go to [Settings] >> [Display & Sound] >> [Audio output] >> [HDMI (ARC) ] or [HDMI (eARC)];
(2). Digital Output Settings: PCM / Passthrough / Auto;
PCM: The Xiaomi TV decodes the audio format first and outputs it to the audio device (speakers/amplifier) via HDMI.
Passthrough: The Xiaomi TV does not process the audio format and directly outputs it to the audio device (speakers/amplifier) via HDMI.
Auto: Automatically selects PCM or Passthrough based on the connected audio device's capabilities (If the audio device supports it, Passthrough will be prioritized).
(3). eARC Settings: Auto/Off (This option is available only on models that support eARC, allowing you to turn eARC on or off. ARC is always enabled by default).
2. S/PDIF Connection:
(1). Output Settings: Go to [Settings] >> [Display & Sound] >> [Audio output] >> [S/PDIF];
(2). Digital Output Settings: PCM / Passthrough;
PCM: The Xiaomi TV decodes the audio format first and outputs it to the audio device (speakers/amplifier) via S/PDIF.
Passthrough: The Xiaomi TV does not process the audio format and directly outputs it to the audio device (speakers/amplifier) via S/PDIF.
Note:
1. When the output device is S/PDIF and the digital output is set to "Passthrough", the volume cannot be adjusted on the TV because the audio source cannot be mixed. To adjust the volume, you need to use the volume control on the S/PDIF device itself. This is a normal phenomenon;
2. If you need to adjust the TV volume, you need to set the digital output to "PCM" and go to [Settings] >> [Display & Sound] >> [Audio output] >> [Digital Output]. Avoid selecting "Passthrough".
