The Xiaomi smartphones support turning on RCS chats. RCS allows you to send images, videos, and audio messages in high-quality, far beyond the limitations of standard SMS. This creates a richer, more interactive messaging experience. RCS shows when your message has been delivered, read, and when the recipient is typing a response. This makes conversations more engaging and gives you better context.
To turn on RCS chats, please refer to the following steps:
1. Open the [Messages] APP;
2. Tap the profile icon;
3. Select [Messages settings];
4. Tap [RCS chats];
5. Turn on [RCS chats].
Note:
1. Not all carriers support RCS, so you’ll need to confirm that your carrier has enabled the service;
2. From time to time, you will receive text messages from Google’s Jibe Mobile asking you to verify your phone number. Currently, RCS chats are only available with your default or preferred calling SIM card;
3. If you remove the SIM card from your phone but don’t turn off RCS chats in settings to stop sending and receiving RCS messages, RCS chats will continue to function for up to 14 days;
4. You can turn off RCS chats through the Google Messages opt-out portal.
