Spam protection in the Messages app is designed to help detect and filter out spam, Messages send some data about your messages to Google without including your phone number or message content.
To turn on spam protection in the Messages app, please refer to the following steps:
1. Open the [Messages] APP;
2. Tap [Profile] and select [Messages settings];
3. Select [Spam protection];
4. Turn on [Enable spam protection].
Note:
When Google Messages detects suspected spam, it can prevent spam messages from getting delivered and hide spam in the spam folder. If you get a suspected spam warning in Google Messages, you can let Google and Carriers know if it is spam or not by tapping [Report spam] or [Report not spam].
