Why does the Xiaomi 15 produce ghosting when taking portrait photos with HDR enabled in low-light conditions?

When taking portrait photos with HDR enabled in low-light conditions on the Xiaomi 15, you can notice ghosting. This occurs because HDR involves capturing multiple frames at different exposure levels and then fusing them to achieve a better dynamic range, especially in scenes with both bright and dark areas. When there is a moving subject in a bright area, the fusion process can sometimes struggle to align the frames perfectly, leading to ghosting effects. While the current optimization strives to balance dynamic range and capture speed, this effect can still appear in certain scenarios. We are actively working on optimizing the performance to minimize ghosting. Please stay updated with OTA software updates for improved results.
