The Xiaomi smartphones support backing up data via Google service, which can prevent data loss due to accidental deletion or hardware failure. You can choose data to back up in case your device is lost, stolen, or damaged.
To back up data via Google service, please refer to the following Methods:
Method 1:
1. Go to [Settings];
2. Tap [About phone];
3. Tap [Back up and restore];
4. Tap [Backup];
5. Select from [Photos & videos] or [Other device data] according to your needs;
6. Tap [Confirm];
7. Tap [Manage backup];
8. You can tap [Manage storage] to manage the data stored in the Google account.
Method 2:
1. Go to [Settings];
2. Swipe down to find and tap [Google];
3. Tap [Backup is off];
4. Select from [Photos & videos] or [Other device data] according to your needs;
5. Tap [Confirm];
6. Tap [Manage backup];

Note:
1. When you enable this function, your device backups automatically over Wi-Fi afters it’s been idle and charging for 2 hours;
2. If you enable [Back up using mobile or metered Wi-Fi data], charges will apply.
