Remote Lock allows you to secure your device in case it gets lost by remotely locking the screen to prevent unauthorized access. This feature helps protect your personal information and ensures that the device can only be unlocked with your screen lock.
To remotely lock the device if it's lost, please refer to the following steps:
1. Open the [Settings] APP on your phone;
2. Select [Google];
3. Tap [All services];
4. Enter [Theft protection];
5. Tap [Remote Lock];
6. Turn on [Use Remote Lock]. To complete activation, you need a verified phone number. If your phone number isn’t verified, please tap [Phone number] and turn on [Automatically verify phone numbers].
Note:
1. To use Remote Lock, you must have a screen lock set up, an active SIM card in your device, and a device with a verified phone number. Additionally, Find My Device must be turned on, and your device needs to be online;
2. If your device is offline when you send a lock screen request via Remote Lock, its screen locks automatically once it’s online. After your device's screen is locked remotely, it can only be unlocked locally with your screen lock. The device’s screen can be locked remotely twice in a 24-hour period.
