The default dimming method of the POCO X7 screen is DC dimming in high brightness and PWM dimming in low brightness.
In this dual dimming method, the POCO X7 can offer several advantages:
1. It can reduce visual fatigue and eye discomfort. Using DC dimming at high brightness levels avoids the flickering issues that PWM dimming will cause. DC dimming adjusts brightness by directly regulating the backlight voltage, which tends to be easier on the eyes without noticeable visual fatigue or discomfort. PWM dimming adjusts brightness at lower brightness levels by rapidly switching the backlight on and off at a high frequency. While effective for dimming, PWM can introduce flicker, which will cause visual discomfort or eye fatigue;
2. DC dimming is more energy-efficient than PWM dimming because it does not require frequent backlight switching at different brightness levels. This efficiency advantage can significantly reduce power consumption over prolonged device usage.
