A: When you use the Mi Fitness APP to search for the band, a prompt displays that the device has been bound. Another possible situation is that the APP searches for someone else's band instead of yours. During normal binding, when the APP searches for an uninitialized band, the band will vibrate and display a prompt "Confirm on your phone".
The troubleshooting steps are as follows:
1. If you are using the band for the first time, please check whether the band is in the pending binding state. In the pending binding state, the band interface will prompt "Scan to download app";
2. During the binding process, whether the band vibrates and prompts "Confirm on your phone". If the band does not prompt, the device being connected is not your device. Please check whether there are other band devices around;
3. After the band vibrates normally and prompts, tap the check mark icon to bind. After the binding is successful, the Mi Fitness APP on the phone will show that the connection is successful, and the band will show the band display (as shown below).
A: When using the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active:
1. Pedometers, sleep & heart rate monitoring, stress/blood oxygen detection, and women's health can record data independently without a mobile phone. You need to connect to the mobile phone regularly to synchronize sports and health data. It is recommended to connect the mobile phone to record the track during exercise;
2. Functions such as stopwatch, alarm, calendar, etc. do not require Bluetooth to be turned on all the time.
Note:
1. In order to better use the band, it is recommended to keep the Mi Fitness APP running in the background. To avoid memory cleaning in the Android system and some security software cleaning processes or interception, please set it according to the requirements in the Mi Fitness APP >> [Device] >> [Notifications and calls] >> [Background permissions];
2. iOS phones cannot add background protection to applications. If an APP enters the background and is cleared, the system Bluetooth connection will not be disconnected. Message notifications can be used normally. Other data synchronization APPs (weather, sports health data synchronization, schedule, etc.) need to be reopened on the phone to use the Mi Fitness APP;
3. When iOS phones turn on power saving mode, the system Bluetooth connection stability will deteriorate and disconnection will occur.
A: If the Mi Fitness APP is running too much in the background, it will be cleared and the device will be disconnected from the APP, resulting in data synchronization failure. You need to enter the Mi Fitness APP to automatically reconnect and synchronize data. When the APP is cleared in the background, reopening the APP will automatically reconnect to the device and you can use it normally.
Reasons for clearing background:
The reason why background applications are cleared is that the running memory (RAM) has been used up by the APP. In order to free up enough running conditions for other newly opened applications, the system must clear some background running applications to free up RAM. Due to differences in models and iOS system software versions, the frequency of background clearing will vary. Taking the iPhone 12 as an example, the memory is 4GB. When 4 applications are opened in iOS 16.3.1, the background clearing phenomenon will occur. After upgrading the version to iOS 16.4, there is no background clearing phenomenon when 5-6 applications are opened (it is related to the specific APP, such as the Camera occupies a relatively large amount of memory).
During normal use, pay attention to the following two points to reduce the frequency of background clearing:
1. Ensure that the phone has sufficient power, avoid overheating, and turn off low power mode. Otherwise, the CPU will be actively downgraded, and the frequency of background clearing will increase significantly;
2. Open the iOS phone's [Settings] >> [General] >> [Background App Refresh] in sequence and enable this function.
Determine whether the application is cleared by the system:
1. If the Mi Fitness APP is cleared and put into the background, re-entering the APP will display the following two operation interfaces in order: first display the APP startup interface, then display the APP home interface;
2. If the Mi Fitness APP is not cleared in the background, the interface where you operated before exiting the APP will be retained when you enter it.
If the band is physically separated from the phone for a long time and the phone is put back together, it prompts that the Bluetooth is disconnected.
Please check:
1. Check whether the Mi Fitness APP is cleared in the background. If so, reopen it;
2. Check if the Bluetooth on your phone is turned off and turn it back on;
3. Check whether the distance between the band and the mobile phone is too far, causing the disconnection. Make sure the Bluetooth of the mobile phone is turned on, open the Mi Fitness APP and tap to connect manually.
A: There are several reasons:
1. The current phone cannot reconnect. The old phone has unbound the device, and the new phone has not synchronized the account, so it cannot reconnect to this device;
2. Confirm which interface the band screen is displaying. If it is on the QR code interface or language selection interface, unbind the device in the Mi Fitness APP on your phone and scan and pair again;
3. Check whether the Bluetooth icon on the band is always on. If so, use [Find phone] to confirm whether it is connected to the current phone. If not, unbind the device on the Mi Fitness APP and rebind the band with the current phone (for the unbinding method, refer to the above Android & iOS unbinding methods);
4. If there is no such device on the device management interface of the old phone's Mi Fitness APP, it means that the old phone has unbound the device. After logging in to the same account and synchronizing with the new phone, the band will not be displayed. If the band is on the QR code interface or language selection interface, re-scan and pair;
5. Connect the band to two phones with the same Xiaomi Account on the Mi Fitness APP. After the band is restored to factory settings, use the new phone to re-pair it and turn off the Bluetooth of the old phone. If the new phone cannot connect again, the new phone has not automatically pulled the new login and pairing information.
Suggestions:
1. Please try to avoid logging into multiple mobile phones with one account;
2. If you are unable to reconnect, please turn off the Bluetooth function of other devices that have logged in to the account and try again;
3. Please keep the network in good condition, close the Mi Fitness APP and reopen it to trigger the cloud to resend login and pairing information to ensure that the band can reconnect.
A: The Mi Fitness APP is cleared in the background, so please confirm whether all background running permissions of the APP are enabled.
There are two setting paths:
1. After the device and APP are connected for the first time, tap the [Settings] option;
2. After pairing, go to the Mi Fitness APP >> [Device] >> [Notifications and calls] >> enable background running permissions and follow the instructions. Select the setting method and check whether the permissions of [Turn off Battery saver], [Select "No restrictions" in Background settings], [Allow app autostart], and [Lock the app in background] are all enabled.
Recovery methods:
1. Check whether the Mi Fitness APP is already the latest version and update it to the latest version;
2. Check whether all permissions of the APP have been granted, especially the Bluetooth connection permission;
3. Check if the Bluetooth on your phone is turned off and turn it back on;
4. Check whether the distance between the band and the mobile phone is too far, causing the disconnection. Make sure the Bluetooth of the mobile phone is turned on, open the Mi Fitness APP and tap to connect manually.
A: Check as follows:
1. When an iOS phone is connected to a device and the device is unilaterally restored to factory settings, the iOS phone system Bluetooth will try to reconnect to the device, and the new phone cannot be able to search it (the iOS phone and the device will always be connected. During the connection period, the new phone cannot be searched. During the disconnection period, the new phone is in scanning mode and can be searched). You need to enter the iOS phone system Bluetooth settings, find the corresponding connected device, and ignore this device. At this time, use the new phone to search and pair it;

2. When the Android phone is connected to the device and the device is unilaterally restored to factory settings, the Mi Fitness APP will reconnect to the device and prompt you to [Remove] or [Add]. At this time, the new phone cannot search for the device. Tap [Remove] and then search and connect with the new phone.
A: Manually turn off the Bluetooth switch of the mobile phone system, and restart the band and the mobile phone.
A: If the following phenomenon occurs, please open the Bluetooth settings of the mobile phone system to check whether the current device is connected.
If the current device is already connected, tap the small circle behind “Connected”, and then tap [Forget This Device].
Note:
If the problem is still not fixed after following these steps, it is recommended to restart the band, restart the phone's Bluetooth, restart the phone, and try again.
A: If you need to bind the band to a new phone, you can refer to the following scenarios:
1. The account logged in the Mi Fitness APP by the new and old phones is the same and the old phone is an Android phone.
After tapping [Connect new phone] on the band, turn off Bluetooth on the old Android phone and close the APP, then use the new phone to scan the code or add the device to search and add, and then connect. It should be noted that if the old phone does not need to connect to the band anymore, it is recommended to uninstall the APP, otherwise, the old phone will connect to the band again;
2. The account logged in the APP by the new and old phones is the same and the old phone is an iOS phone.
After connecting to the new phone on the band, the old iOS phone needs to tap to ignore the band name or turn off Bluetooth directly in the Bluetooth list, and then close the APP and use the new phone to scan the code or add the device to search and add, and then connect. It should be noted that if the old phone does not need to connect to the band anymore, it is recommended to uninstall the APP, otherwise, the old phone will connect to the band again;
3. The accounts logged in the APP by the new and old phones are different and the old phone is an Android phone.
After tapping [Connect new phone] on the band, turn off Bluetooth on the old Android phone and close the APP, then scan the code or add the device to search and add with the new phone, the band will need to confirm to restore the factory settings first. After the restoration is complete, scan the code again or tap [Add device] to proceed with the binding process. It should be noted that if the old phone does not need to connect to the band anymore, it is recommended to uninstall the APP, otherwise, the old phone will connect to the band again;
4. The accounts logged in the APP by the new and old phones are inconsistent and the old phone is an iOS phone.
After connecting to a new phone on the band, the old iOS phone needs to tap to ignore the band name or turn off Bluetooth directly in the Bluetooth list, and after clearing the APP, when you scan the code or add a device with the new phone to search and add, the band will need to confirm to restore the factory settings first. After the restoration is complete, scan the code again or tap to add a device to proceed with the binding process. It should be noted that if the old phone does not need to connect to the band anymore, it is recommended to uninstall the APP, otherwise, the old phone will be connected to the band again.
A: Yes. When it is turned on, the screen will automatically light up when the band receives a message notification from the mobile phone application. If you choose to turn it off, the band will not light up the screen but only vibrate when a message comes in, which can improve the battery life to a certain extent.
Setting path:
Open the Mi Fitness APP >> [Device] >> [Notifications and calls] >> [App notifications] >> [Wake screen].
A: When the band receives a notification reminder, it will vibrate and automatically display the notification content. If you do not check the notification immediately after receiving it, you can enter the notification center by sliding down on the band display. When you enter the notification center, you will first see the latest notification. You can slide down the notification center to view the historical notifications. If the content of each notification detail exceeds one screen, you can continue to slide to view it.
To delete or clear a notification:
The band can save up to 20 recent notification messages. After this limit is exceeded, each new notification received will automatically delete the oldest notification.
1. Tap the list in the notification center to enter the notification details. Tap [Dismiss] on the details interface to delete the notification;
2. On the notification center list interface, swipe left to delete the notification;
3. On the notification interface, swipe down to the top and tap [Clear all] to delete all notifications;
4. Aggregated messages will be displayed as "X messages" in the list. Aggregated messages can only be deleted by entering the aggregated message group.
A: Yes. When connected to a mobile phone, the band will vibrate to remind you when there is an incoming call, and display the caller's number or name. You can tap the red phone icon on the band screen to reject the call, tap [Dismiss] to mute it, and it does not support answering calls.
How to enable:
Mi Fitness APP >> [Device] >> [Notifications and calls] >> [Incoming calls] >> select to turn on call reminder and make other settings.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active supports a quick reply function for incoming calls and text messages. (Only supported by Android system.)
After binding the Mi Fitness APP, go to [Device] interface >> [Notifications and calls] >> [Incoming calls] >> turn on [Reply with message]. When the band is connected, you can quickly reply to incoming calls on the band interface. The content of the SMS quick reply can be edited and added in APP [Device] interface >> [Notifications and calls] >> [Incoming calls] >> [Quick responses].
Note:
iOS phones do not support SMS reply because the iOS system does not have permission to reply to SMS messages.
A: Not support.
A: Please confirm whether the call reminder in the Mi Fitness APP is turned on.
Please confirm whether the Mi Fitness APP has sufficient permissions, including the permission to receive incoming calls and the permission to run in the background, to ensure that the Mi Fitness APP can push incoming calls to the band in the background.
Please confirm whether the band is in the following modes:
1. Whether the Do Not Disturb mode is turned on;
2. Whether the Do Not Disturb synchronization is turned on and the Do Not Disturb mode is turned on in the mobile phone;
3. Whether the sleep mode is turned on.
Any of the above states will cause the band to not remind you when you receive a message notification.
A: SMS reply failure is a result of the SMS reply process. It is not an unexpected problem and has nothing to do with the band. It is caused by the permissions granted to the Mi Fitness APP by the mobile phone or the incompatibility of the mobile phone system with the Mi Fitness APP. Most of these problems can be solved by checking whether the relevant switches on the mobile phone are turned on and whether the relevant permissions are granted.
A: 1. Verify the notification opening permission;
2. Verify whether the APP lock function is enabled on the phone. You need to disable the hidden notification content setting on the phone system;
3. Take the Mi Fitness APP as an example, verify whether the Mi Fitness APP has turned on background lock/auto-start. After the APP is disconnected, the mobile phone messages cannot be synchronized to the band.
A: The missed call message is sent by the mobile phone and cannot be controlled by the band or the Mi Fitness APP.
A: When the band is connected to an iPhone, except for the application icons preset on the band, all other message notifications use the default icons, and the APP does not push the application icon to the band.
The following application icons are preset: Messages, LINE, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitch.
A: The band notification icon supports dynamic caching of 20 icons. If the 21st message is received when 20 icons are cached, the band will delete the application icon that has not received the message for the longest time and cache the new icon when it needs to request the icon. At this time, if you receive a message with the deleted icon again, you need to request the icon again. Therefore, if there are many APPs on the phone and messages are pushed regularly, you will observe that when the band message is displayed, the default icon is displayed on the reminder interface, and then the corresponding application icon is displayed in the notification center. You can choose to turn off uncommon messages.
A: The summary is as follows:
1. The message list will retain up to the latest 20 messages. Tap to clear all messages in the current list;
2. Messages can be viewed by turning interfaces. The maximum number of characters displayed on the band is 400, which is consistent with the number of characters displayed in the notification bar of the mobile phone, and also depends on the specific application;
3. It does not support picture message display or emoji expression display.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active can store data independently. Some functions can be used without a mobile phone during daily activities. You only need to turn on the Bluetooth of the mobile phone and bring it close to the band to connect when synchronizing data. It can display 20 exercise records and save vitality scores, heart rate, and blood oxygen health data for the past 7 days. The band can only display data for the day.
Regarding the sleep module, it supports advanced monitoring and breathing score. Due to the large amount of data generated by the monitoring function, it is recommended to connect to the Mi Fitness APP to synchronize data every day and view the complete sleep records.
If these two switches are turned off, sleep data is expected to be stored for 7-8 days.
If either switch is turned on, sleep data is expected to be stored for 2-3 days.
It is recommended to connect to the Mi Fitness APP every day to synchronize sleep data to avoid device storage limitations causing device sleep data to be overwritten. After a timely connection to the APP for synchronization, you can view the complete sleep data for each day on the APP.
The data synchronized to the APP will be automatically uploaded to the cloud for storage (Mi Fitness APP >> [Profile] >> [App settings] >> [Sync with the cloud] is turned on). If you change to a new phone, you can synchronize the previous data from the cloud to the new phone by binding the previous Xiaomi Account to the band.
Note:
The number of saved records will change with the size of the exercise records. Please refer to the actual situation.
A: The settings interface of the band provides band display replacement, display and brightness, vibration mode, do not disturb mode, device password, battery, system operation, and about device.
A: The band application list setting refers to the ability to set the order of the primary menu functions on the band. You can customize the applications in the list according to your personal preferences. Primary menu refers to the applications that can be switched by sliding up and down on the home interface of the band.
Mi Fitness APP: [Device] >> [System] >> [Sort apps] >> drag to adjust the application order.
A: The band reminders include incoming call reminders, event reminders, alarm reminders, APP notification reminders, standing reminders, SMS reminders, target reminders, schedule reminders and other band application reminders. The band supports custom vibration modes, and you can edit the vibration mode according to your preferences. You can enter the band: [Settings] >> [Vibration], and you can choose between Off and Standard modes.
A: After the band turns on the Do Not Disturb mode, you can receive messages, however, it will no longer vibrate or light up the screen for reminders, such as incoming call reminders, text message reminders, and APP notification reminders. The band turns off the Do Not Disturb mode by default. Unblocked: abnormal heart rate reminders, abnormal blood oxygen reminders, low battery, find device, alarm, countdown, and wake-up alarm in sleep mode.
Band setting path: [Settings] >> [DND settings] >> [DND].
Turn off [DND] to disable the Do Not Disturb mode.
Turn on [DND] to keep Do Not Disturb mode on.
Select [Custom], and the Do Not Disturb mode will take effect at the scheduled time.
Select [Sync with phone] and the Do Not Disturb mode will take effect on your phone (the Mi Fitness APP needs to have Do Not Disturb permission enabled).
Do Not Disturb synchronization: The band and mobile phone can synchronize the Do Not Disturb status with each other in real time. It only appears when the Android phone is paired and connected. When using it, you must turn on the Do Not Disturb permission switch in the Mi Fitness APP. See the figure below for details.
Swipe right on the main band display to access the quick controls, where you can quickly access Do Not Disturb, which supports the following functions:
1. Select [All day] to keep Do Not Disturb mode on;
2. Select [1 hour] to make Do Not Disturb mode effective for 1 hour after turning it on;
3. Select [4 hours] to make Do Not Disturb mode effective for 4 hours after turning it on;
4. Select [Custom], the Do Not Disturb mode will take effect at the scheduled time;
5. When Do Not Disturb is on, tap the Do Not Disturb icon to turn off the Do Not Disturb mode directly.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active will automatically synchronize the time on your phone when connected to the Mi Fitness APP. It supports the 24-hour format.
A: After the band is successfully bound, it starts recording and analyzing exercise, sleep at night, etc. You can light up the screen by touching the touch screen.
1. Slide up and down to display the various entrances of the band's first-level menu, and tap the screen to view different application functions;
2. Swipe down from the top of the screen at a constant speed: Open message notifications;
3. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen at a constant speed: Open the APP list;
4. Swipe left at a constant speed on the home screen: Switch widget items;

A: 1. Mi Fitness APP >> [Device] >> [More] >> [Update];
2. If a new version is found to be available for update, tap to download the upgrade package;
3. After the upgrade package is downloaded, it will be automatically pushed to the band. After the upgrade package is received, the band will automatically upgrade and restart.
Note:
The battery level of the band needs to be kept at 20% or above during the upgrade. During the upgrade process, the band needs to remain connected to the phone, try to keep the band close to the phone, and try to keep the Mi Fitness APP running in the foreground. The APP can be cleared in the background, causing the upgrade to fail.
A: If the band upgrades very slowly, and the Mi Fitness APP shows that it takes a long time for the device to restart after the transfer is completed, please perform the following checks or operations:
1. The time required for upgrading depends on the version download and the phone model. When upgrading the full package, Android upgrades in about 4-5 minutes, and iOS upgrades in about 6-8 minutes. Please wait patiently. When upgrading the firmware package, Android and iOS system take 1-2 minutes;
2. Check whether the battery of the wearable device is sufficient. The remaining power will affect the upgrade speed of the wearable device. Please make sure that the battery of the wearable device is above 20% during the upgrade. You can connect the band to a power source before upgrading;
3. Check whether the network status is good. The time required for the upgrade is closely related to the network status. Please ensure that the network environment (4G/5G/WLAN) is in good condition;
4. Check the phone system version. Android phones are advised to upgrade the phone system to Android 6.0 or above before trying to upgrade the band;
5. Do not operate the band and APP frequently during the upgrade process. Frequent operation of the band or APP during the upgrade process will cause the system to take longer to complete the upgrade of the band.
A: During the upgrade process of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active, if the connection is disconnected (Bluetooth connection is disconnected), the installation package will fail to be transferred. At this time, the band will restart and return to the version before the upgrade.
1. If the APP has not performed other operations and is still in the upgrade transmission interface, after the device reconnects and completes synchronization, please go to a place with fewer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices and tap [Retry] to reduce other signal interference. If the APP has returned to the function interface, please go to a place with fewer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices, tap [Check for updates], and re-initiate the upgrade;
2. After re-initiating the upgrade, the band upgrade progress will be resumed from the last failed point (0% re-transmission for full upgrade);
3. If the update fails again under Bluetooth connection, it is recommended to select [Reset] on the device (this operation can unbind the band), restart the paired phone, and after the phone and device restart, rebind with the APP to upgrade again;
4. Keep the band and mobile phone close to each other, and follow the upgrade prompts: keep the Mi Fitness APP upgrade interface in the foreground and wait patiently for the upgrade to complete.
A: When the transfer interface displays 100%, it means that the new version upgrade package has been transferred. The interface preparing to update verification is verifying the integrity, legality, and encryption of the upgrade package. This is a normal upgrade process. Please wait patiently.
A: Yes. The device password is turned off by default. When it is turned on, if it detects that you are not wearing the device, the device will be locked. After wearing it again, the password must be entered to unlock it.

4. If it still can’t be displayed, please submit the log in the Mi Fitness APP so that the written data can be analyzed.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active does not support the Xiaomi Smart Hub function.
A: The band will preload the APP in the left and right interfaces. For example, when you slide left/right to the previous interface of the music widget, the music interface will be loaded in advance. At this time, the phone will be requested to search for the device and the phone screen will be temporarily lit. Please don't worry too much.
If you do not use the music function frequently, you can set other widgets that you often use to replace the music widget in the Mi Fitness APP >> [Device] >> [System] >> [Widgets], and this problem will not occur.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active can control the music playback on your phone. When the band and the phone are connected, open the music player on the phone first. After the music starts playing, the band enters the music interface. Tap the pause icon on the band to pause the playback. Tap the song switch icon to switch to the previous or next song at any time. Tap the volume [+] and [-] to adjust the volume. Currently, it supports most music players on the market. However, due to the openness of the music player and the differences in the APP version, the experience of the band’s music control function will be affected to a certain extent.
Note:
1. When the band is connected to a Xiaomi phone, you need to enable notification access for the Mi Fitness APP to use the music control function;
2. In order to better use the band to control the music playback on the phone, this function needs to be used after the phone starts playing music and the Mi Fitness APP needs to be kept running in the background. To avoid memory cleaning in the Android system and some security software cleaning processes or interception, please set it according to the requirements in the Mi Fitness APP >> [Device] >> [Notifications and calls] >> [Background permissions].
A: The summary is as follows:
Mobile phone system | Xiaomi phones | iOS phones | Third-party mobile phones |
Mainstream music APP | Support | Support | Support |
Display artist name | Support | Support | Support |
Display progress bar | Support | Support | Support |
Display lyrics | Only the built-in player of Xiaomi/Redmi phones supports displaying lyrics | Not support | Not support |
A: Please check as follows:
1. Check whether the Mi Fitness APP has obtained the access to use notifications and whether the APP's notification permissions are enabled. Check whether the APP has correctly enabled the permission to read notifications. If it is the latest Xiaomi phone system, you need to enable permissions: [Settings] >> [Privacy protection] >> [Special permissions] >> [Device & app notifications] >> select [Mi Fitness], try to close it and reopen it;
2. Check whether the music player on your phone is opened and whether the band is connected to the Mi Fitness APP;
3. If a certain music player cannot be controlled, however, other players in the phone can, it is recommended to uninstall and reinstall the player and try again. Currently, most music players on the market are supported. However, due to the openness of the music player and the difference in the APP version, the experience of the band music control function will be affected to a certain extent.
A: Not support.
A: If the band is not paired, it will automatically shut down after 15 minutes to protect your band. Please recharge it before turning it on.
A: Considering the safety, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active features a high-temperature shutdown protection mechanism. When the temperature is high, you will be prompted that the device is about to shut down. After the high-temperature shutdown protection is triggered, the device can be restarted by charging after the temperature drops.
A: The band will inevitably come into contact with dust when worn. In fact, whether it is easy to absorb dust has nothing to do with color. It’s just that the contrast of the black strap is stronger, and it is easier to see visually after absorbing foreign matter.
A: To ensure that the band is not easy to get loose after the band buckle is fastened, the buckle and the band hole are interference fit. Assembly method: put the band body on the wrist, pass the long band strap through the tail bezel of the short band strap, and adjust the band to suitable tightness. When fastening the buckle, the mushroom head of the buckle should be aligned with the band hole. The index finger should be placed under the long band, and the thumb and index finger should be pressed hard to fasten the buckle.
A: When wearing the band, be careful to avoid scratching the short end of the band (the buckle end) with hard objects to prevent the buckle from being disengaged due to accidental contact with the band. The band is designed with a wrist-like arc structure. If the buckle is accidentally touched and loosened, it will not fall off automatically without external force. Just tighten the buckle in time. If the corresponding buckle hole is worn and deformed due to long-term wear, causing the buckle to be easily disengaged, the strap needs to be replaced in time.
A: Some Xiaomi smart bands will whiten or have micro-cracks at a low probability when exposed to strong external force or large-area contact with oleic acid/cosmetics/alcohol. This phenomenon will not affect the normal function of the product. If you need, you can contact the Xiaomi official after-sales service center for inspection.
In daily use, it is recommended to avoid applying/spraying chemicals such as oleic acid, cosmetics, alcohol, perfume, etc. directly on the surface of the heart rate sensor.
A: The base material of the band shell is plastic, and the outer surface is plated with high-gloss metal paint, so the band is essentially a plastic product. When worn together with harder metal accessories (such as metal bands or other irregular metal accessories) or mineral accessories (such as jade bands, crystal bands), the band surface will be scratched, dented, abraded, and the paint will fall off. Therefore, it is not recommended to wear the band and metal or mineral accessories together. You can wear them separately on both wrists.
A: The white strap is made of antibacterial TPU material. Compared with the black strap, the white strap is more likely to show various dirt and dyes in daily life. In daily use, please try to avoid contamination with red ink, watercolor pen and various industrial dyes. If it is accidentally stained, it is recommended that you use laundry detergent, soapy water and other daily cleaning agents to wipe the strap to remove the dirt.
Note:
If the strap is dirty due to improper use, it is recommended to clean the strap or purchase a new strap.
A: It must be taken off. The band is charged by magnets adsorbing the charger. A strong magnetic field will be formed during nuclear magnetic resonance, which will seriously affect the magnet on the back of the band. In severe cases, it can change the magnetic field of the magnet inside the band, causing the magnetic poles to reverse. It will cause the charging cable to be unable to adsorb and charge, and will also damage the components inside the screen, causing a series of problems such as a black screen on the band. Therefore, you must follow the doctor's advice when doing nuclear magnetic resonance and other health examinations, and take off the band in advance and put it in a safe place. Similarly, before entering a strong magnetic environment in life, you must also take off the band in advance and store it in a safe place.
A: 1. The general reason why the band cannot be turned on is that it is out of power. The band cannot be charged because the charging contacts are oxidized. You can try to clean the charging contacts to see if it can be charged;
2. Try to plug and unplug the charging cable 5 times in a row to force recovery;
3. Next, make sure that the USB port (PC or other power supply device) is powered normally, and try to change the USB charging cable of the band. Or try to change the USB port of the power supply device.
A: The battery life performance of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active is as follows:
Time | Test scenario |
| After fully charged, use the factory default settings, use a static band display, and turn off sleep advanced monitoring and sleep breathing score. Turn on 30 minutes/time all-day heart rate detection, turn on message notifications (100 messages, 10 calls, 3 alarms per day), raise your wrist to light up the screen 200 times a day, start the Mi Fitness APP to synchronize data once a day, manually measure blood oxygen twice a day, and turn on exercise recording for 60 minutes a week. |
Note:
In actual use, battery life depends on various factors such as settings, operations, and usage environment, which will differ from the laboratory data.
A: With health monitoring fully turned on, the normal usage days of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active are about 6 days (heart rate monitoring, all-day blood oxygen, REM sleep, and other functions are used normally). If other functions are used frequently, the usage days will be further compressed to less than 4 days.
A: Please check as follows:
1. The Mi Fitness APP is connected to the band, with default settings, and a typical battery life of 18 days;
2. It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to charge the band. Please make sure it is fully charged first;
3. After charging, update the band firmware to the latest version;
4. Check whether the sleep breathing score function is turned on, the all-day heart rate monitoring mode is turned on, the sleep advanced monitoring is turned on, frequent message reminders and screen lighting are turned on, or all-day blood oxygen detection is turned on or frequently used. The use of the above functions will cause the battery life of the band to shorten. You can turn them off, restart them, and then observe them;
5. If the function that consumes power quickly is not turned on, you can restore the device to factory settings, reconnect, and continue to use and observe;
6. If the battery consumption problem still occurs even though the function of fast power consumption is not enabled, please submit feedback in the Mi Fitness APP.
Note:
The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active supports the battery saver mode, which can extend the battery life after a full charge (laboratory verification data).
A: Yes. You can directly set the band to battery saver mode in the band settings. After turning on the battery saver mode, the band will only record basic time, steps and basic sleep information. The band's Bluetooth and other functions (raise to wake, heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, etc.) will be turned off, and the data cannot be connected to the Mi Fitness APP for synchronization. In the battery saver mode, a dark power saving interface will be displayed. This battery saver mode can be exited by pressing and holding the screen for more than 3s to trigger exiting from the battery saver mode. The battery saver mode does not support left, right, up and down sliding.
Setting method: Open the band’s [Settings] >> [Battery] >> [Battery saver].
Exit the battery saver mode: Press and hold the band screen for about 3 seconds or plug in the charger, and the band will exit power saving mode.
Note:
When the band is in the battery saver mode, Bluetooth will be automatically disconnected and the screen light-up function will be disabled.
A: The battery capacity of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active is 300mAh, which can be fully charged in about 1 hour and 40 minutes. The band comes with a dedicated magnetic charging cable.
You do not need to remove the strap to charge. You need to connect the two ends with metal contacts to the dedicated charging cable (as shown below). Then connect the charging cable to a standard USB charging adapter with a voltage of 5V and an output current of 0.5A.
Note:
1. When charging, make sure the charging contacts are clean and dry, and check whether the charging contact and charging cable are in good contact;
2. If you haven't used the band for a long time, you need to wait a while before the charging interface is displayed on the screen;
3. While the band is charging, you can check the current time, receive call reminders and APP notifications;
4. It is recommended to use a certified charging adapter for charging;
5. Only the standard charging cable of the band is allowed to be used for charging. Other non-standard charging cables are not allowed. If other non-standard charging cables are used, it will cause abnormalities such as burning of the whole device.
A: After the band is inserted into the power supply, the charging icon, current time and specific percentage will be displayed. When it is fully charged, the band will vibrate to remind you and the power level will be displayed as 100%.
A: Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot:
1. If you use a power bank to charge, the power bank has a protection mechanism. When the battery of the power bank is low, it cannot fully charge the product. It is recommended to use a standard USB charging adapter with a voltage of 5V and an output current of 0.5A and a standard dedicated charging cable for charging;
2. Check whether there are stains on the metal contacts of the band body and the charging cable. You can try to wipe them with alcohol cotton, paper towels, etc. to ensure that there is no poor contact between the band body and the charging cable;
3. Check whether the charging adapter is normal. You can try to replace it with other standard adapters to connect the band charging cable for charging;
4. Check whether the charging cable is normal. If you have a spare charging cable for the same band, you can try to replace it;
5. Try charging in an environment with a temperature above 10°C;
6. The charging time of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active is about 1 hour and 40 minutes. If it is not fully charged, please check the charging time to see if it is due to the short charging time;
7. When the charging power reaches 100%, please do not unplug the charging cable immediately. It is recommended that the band continue to be charged on the charging cable for 6 to 7 minutes;
8. If there is no response after charging for a long time, you can apply for the after-sales inspection.
Note:
Please check whether the temperature of the environment where the band is located is too low or too high when charging. If the temperature of the band is too high or too low, the system will prohibit charging. The charging function will automatically resume when the temperature returns to normal.
A: When charging with a power bank, the band cannot be fully charged. It is not recommended to use a power bank to charge the band.
Reason: Because most of the mobile power supplies on the market have a function to automatically shut off charging when fully charged, the mobile power supply will automatically disconnect when the discharge current is small to a certain extent. When the band is charging, the current is very small, and the mobile power supply will mistakenly think that it is fully charged, thus disconnect the charging current of the band, which will cause the band to not be fully charged or cannot be charged.
Therefore, when using a power bank to charge the band, it cannot be charged or fully charged.
A: The contacts of the charging cable is flat. When the device is magnetically attached, it can become loose when pressed or pulled against the charging cable. It is recommended that you place the device on a stable surface to charge it, and avoid pulling the charging cable during charging.
A: Not support.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active supports sleep monitoring, which can record long sleep and sporadic naps, all of which are monitored 24 hours a day. After wearing the band normally and falling asleep, the band can automatically identify the sleep state through the built-in sensor.
Sleep duration greater than or equal to 3 hours will be recorded as long sleep, while sleep duration less than 3 hours will be recorded as sporadic naps (sleep duration less than 20 minutes cannot be recorded).
The band supports advanced monitoring of sleep throughout the day. After turning on, it can track the distribution of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, but the battery life of the device will be severely reduced. After turning on high-precision monitoring, the amount of data generated by the monitoring function is large. It is recommended to connect to the Mi Fitness APP to synchronize data every day and view the complete sleep record.
How to view sleep records:
You can view the main sleep records of the day on the band. After the band is connected to the phone to synchronize data, you can tap [Sleep] in the Mi Fitness APP to view historical sleep data, including day, week, month, and year. View sleep distribution, including total sleep time, wake time, light sleep time, and deep sleep time. You can also view the sleep status at each time point during the daily sleep period. Rapid eye movement (REM) state needs to be turned on for auxiliary sleep monitoring to be recorded.
Note:
If the band is in a relatively quiet state and there are movements similar to sleeping, the sensor will judge it as sleeping, resulting in errors in the sleeping time.
A: Yes.
The principle of sleep breathing score: Snoring or other diseases after sleep (such as obstructive sleep apnea) can cause a significant decrease in blood oxygen saturation. The device determines whether there is shortness of breath during sleep by monitoring the decrease in blood oxygen saturation and sleep quality during sleep. According to the number of times shortness of breath occurs, the corresponding sleep breathing quality score will be given in the Mi Fitness APP. If the sleep breathing quality is poor, it will cause daytime fatigue and drowsiness.
Due to the large amount of data generated by the monitoring function, it is recommended to connect to the Mi Fitness APP to synchronize data every day and view the complete sleep records.
Turning on sleep breathing score will significantly reduce the battery life of the band. Please choose whether to turn it on according to your personal needs.
Open path:
Mi Fitness APP: home interface >> [Sleep] >> tap the three dots icon in the upper right corner >> [Settings].
Band: Sleep APP >> [Set] >> [Breathing score].
A: When you use the Sleep APP during sleep, the band recognizes you are awake and checks the sleep data of the band, and it will also record your wake-up time.
The swiping of the sleep widget can be caused by accidental touches after falling asleep. In order to prevent accidental touches, when the algorithm has not fully recognized that you have woken up, swiping the sleep widget will not record your wake-up and refresh your sleep data. Therefore, the data on the sleep widget when you just wake up is not in line with your expectations.
A: First, confirm whether the sleep breathing score is turned on in the Mi Fitness APP. To turn it on, go to [Device] >> [Fitness and health] >> [Sleep] >> [breathing score] and tap to turn it on.
If the sleep time is too short and the effective monitoring time is too short, the sleep breathing quality score or monitoring data will not be displayed (the night sleep time is more than 3 hours).
Improper wearing will result in failure to monitor sleep breathing quality. It is recommended that the device be worn loosely and one finger away from the wrist bone.
If none of the above reasons exist, please check whether the APP and firmware versions are the latest. It is recommended to restart the band or unbind and rebind it.
A: About 15-60 seconds.
Timeout reasons: Wearing status, skin characteristics, environment and other factors will cause measurement timeout.
Measuring tips: Adjust the band to ensure the back is snug against your wrist.
A: The red indicator and infrared light (invisible to the naked eye) will turn on, and if the indicator flashes green, it means that it is measuring heart rate.
A: The summary is as follows:
The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active has the all-day blood oxygen function turned on. It will automatically measure blood oxygen after falling asleep, and the red light on the band will flash. If you don't wear the device and find the red light flashing, it is a wrong detection of the wear monitoring function. The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active uses an infrared + green light + red light high-precision PPG heart rate sensor. Compared with traditional wear monitoring, the monitoring accuracy has been greatly improved. However, when the band is placed in an environment similar to the wrist, a wrong detection will also occur.
When the band is not worn, please make sure that there is no object blocking the heart rate sensor (common wrong detection scenarios: the band is placed in a bag, on the bed/table, etc.).
If you don't wear the band when you sleep, it is recommended to turn off the sleep advanced monitoring function, which can greatly save the power of the band. After turning on advanced monitoring, due to the large amount of data generated by the monitoring function, it is recommended to connect to the Mi Fitness APP to synchronize data every day and view the complete sleep record.
A: You can set low blood oxygen alert (80%, 85%, 90%) on the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active. The measured values are for reference only and are not intended for medical reference or diagnosis. If you feel any discomfort, please consult a medical institution.
A: The summary is as follows:
1. The wearing position is incorrect. Since there are fewer blood vessels in the wrist, the blood oxygen value is not easy to measure. Please wear the band one finger away from the wrist bone (ulna protrusion);
2. Wear the band too loosely. Please wear it tighter, with a slight sense of tightness, and it is best if the band does not move when you shake your wrist;
3. Stretch your forearms and open your elbows to avoid squeezing blood vessels, which can cause blood flow obstruction and unreliable measurements;
4. Place your arm on a stable surface such as a desktop for measurement, with the band screen facing upwards to avoid shaking that will cause unstable signals;
5. It is recommended to move the band to ensure that the back of the band fits your wrist and keep it still before measuring again;
6. The latest version has been optimized accordingly. Please upgrade to the latest version for further experience.
A: Yes. After turning on the standing reminder switch, when it detects that there is no activity for 50 minutes in each natural hour, the band will vibrate at the 50th minute and remind you to move up. If you recognize standing and walking within 10 minutes after the reminder, a finished standing reminder will pop up.
Sitting for a long time and not moving can lead to many health problems. It is recommended to stand up and move once every hour when wearing the band. Standing up regularly is a convenient way to reduce sedentary behavior and increase energy consumption. You can only turn on the standing reminder from the Mi Fitness APP, set the start and end time, and set the lunch break to do not disturb.
To turn on the standing reminder, go to [Device] >> [Fitness and health] >> [Standing] >> turn on/off >> set time period.
A: The purpose of the standing reminder is to get you moving. The band needs to detect wrist movement and step count to determine whether the standing activity behavior has been achieved. Therefore, if you have been standing still or moving slightly, you will receive a standing reminder. At the same time, the standing determination algorithm is also constantly optimized to gradually improve the using experience.
A: The judgment of standing reminder requires certain conditions. If you just start to move and suddenly receive a standing reminder from the wearable device, it is because you are in an active state, however, have not reached the judgment threshold of standing activity behavior. At this time, you can continue to move and ignore the standing reminder issued by the wearable device. If this phenomenon occurs frequently, you can submit relevant feedback. The standing determination algorithm is also constantly optimized to gradually improve the using experience.

A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active PPG sensor detects heart rate using 25Hz green light detection, and heart rate cycle detection will detect heart rate status regularly. The detection time is short and the detection is accurate.
A: Please check as follows:
1. First, check whether the green light flashes when the back of the band touches the skin. If the green light flashes, it means that the heart rate monitoring function of the band is turned on normally. If there is no green light flashing, please verify whether the heart rate monitoring function is turned on;
2. Please wear it in the correct way. The band should not be worn too loosely. Adjust the wearing method, and then re-enter the heart rate function of the band to check;
3. Dry skin and skin scars can affect heart rate measurement. Low temperatures in winter can also affect heart rate measurement;
4. If the above reasons are not the causes of the problem, you can restart the band, change the arm and try measuring again.

A: When the vitality score on the Mi Fitness APP is greater than that on the band, the APP will send the data back to the band. Since the current 30-minute data is sent back to the band, the data will not be displayed on the band. So the strategy is updated to not send back the current 30-minute data to the device, and only send back the vitality score other than the current 30 minutes on the same day. Therefore, there will be a half-hour error in the fusion and delivery of the vitality score.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active does not support the vitality score function currently.

A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active supports 50 types of sports. The sports item supports automatic adjustment of the order according to the number of times you use it. The more frequently used ones will be placed at the front.
A: Not support.
A: The main types of sports support viewing different data on the band.
The supported data of typical sports is as follows:
Outdoor running: duration, distance, heart rate & heart rate range, pace, calories, cadence, average pace, number of steps;
Walking: duration, distance, heart rate & heart rate range, pace, calories, cadence, average pace, number of steps;
Free activities: duration, calories, heart rate & heart rate zones;
Hiking: duration, distance, heart rate & heart rate range, speed, calories, cadence, average speed, number of steps;
Outdoor cycling: duration, distance, heart rate & heart rate range, speed, calories, average speed;
Indoor running: duration, distance, heart rate & heart rate range, pace, calories, cadence, steps;
Rope skipping: calories, frequency, heart rate, total duration, total count, total calories;
Expand your exercise: duration, calories, heart rate & heart rate range.
A: Since the band does not have an independent positioning function, the positioning information and trajectory data all come from the mobile phone, so this type of outdoor sport requires turning on the mobile phone positioning information and connecting to the mobile phone.
The method to turn on the mobile phone positioning information is as follows:
1. Before using the band for outdoor sports, Android phones should set the location permission of the Mi Fitness APP to [Always] or [While using the app] and turn on [Background permissions] on the APP device interface. Otherwise, there will be no movement track after the exercise and the distance will be inaccurate. When the location permission is set to [While using the app] or the Mi Fitness APP is in the background, the outdoor exercise distance will have a large error or there will be no track after the exercise;
2. Before using the band for outdoor sports, iOS phones should set the location permission of the Mi Fitness APP to [Always] and go to [Settings] >> [Mi Fitness] >> turn on [Background App Refresh]. Otherwise, there will be no exercise track after the exercise and the distance will be inaccurate;
3. When the positioning information of the mobile phone is turned on normally and the track is displayed in the exercise record of the Mi Fitness APP, however, the distance still deviates, you can zoom in on the track of the exercise record to see if there is a long straight line in the exercise track. This phenomenon is caused by obstructions around, resulting in deviations in the positioning information of the mobile phone, which in turn causes deviations in the distance calculation of the band. As shown in the figure, similar scenarios will lead to inaccurate exercise distance calculation.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active will not save exercise records. This is caused by the following reasons:
1. Make sure the band is fully charged during exercise. If the band is turned off or restarted during exercise, no exercise data will be generated;
2. If you enable outdoor sports on the Mi Fitness APP, please make sure the APP is running in the background and remains connected to the band. If the APP is disconnected from the band or the APP is cleared, the band will be forced to exit the sports function and no sports data will be generated;
3. Outdoor sports rely on the mobile phone’s GPS to record the track and exercise distance. Therefore, when doing outdoor sports, you need to turn on the mobile phone’s GPS and APP location permissions.
iOS phone: [Settings] >> [Privacy & Security] >> enable [Location Service] >> scroll down to find the Mi Fitness APP >> turn on [While Using the App] (If the APP location permission is set to [While Using the App], it can cause loss of track and location).
Android phone: (Different phone models have different UI interactions). The following takes the Mi Fitness APP as an example: [Profile] >> [App permissions] >> [Access location].
A: Exercises initiated from the Mi Fitness APP will not synchronize exercise reports to the band. Exercises initiated from the band can only be viewed on the band. So if you need to view exercise records on the band, please initiate the exercise from the band.
A: 1. If the difference is small, it is because the data on the band is synchronized once a minute, and the automatic synchronization interval with the mobile phone is 30 minutes. Please manually Tap on the synchronization and check again;
2. If the difference is large, it is because the APP data comes from other devices, and the band data only comes from the data recorded by the band.
A: Not support.
A: Location permissions are mainly divided into rejection, permission during use, and always allowed location permissions. In order to ensure the integrity and reliability of sports data such as trajectories during exercise, the Mi Fitness APP has set a requirement that the always allowed location permission must be obtained before the exercise can be initiated normally. Please note that when the always allowed location permission is granted, the APP will not continue to obtain your location information, and it will only be used in scenarios where positioning is required, such as exercise status. If you initiate an exercise with only the in-use permission granted, when the APP enters the background state, there will be a certain probability that problems such as positioning and trajectory loss will occur, which will seriously affect the exercise experience. In addition, for wearable devices that do not support independent positioning, the acquisition of positioning information depends on the mobile phone. If the mobile phone's positioning permission is insufficient, problems such as the wearable device being unable to obtain positioning information will also occur. Therefore, in order to ensure the complete and correct recording of exercise data, the band requires the granting of the always allowed location permission on iOS devices before initiating an exercise. At the same time, new solutions are constantly explored and the way to obtain permissions is continuously optimized.
A: The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active calculates calories based on your heart rate or wrist movement. The calorie calculation algorithm will be updated with each product iteration to take more influencing factors into consideration. There are some differences between the calorie calculation logic of previous models and the latest calorie calculation method.
In wearable devices, the calories generated in a day are mainly composed of two parts:
1. Passively recorded calories, also called daily calories, refer to the calories that can be generated when no manual exercise is initiated. Calories will not increase when not wearing or sleeping. In other normal conditions, calories can be generated as long as there is a certain amount of activity. For example, in daily office work, although there are no steps, calories can be generated due to a certain amount of activity. Calories are related to the size and duration of activity;
Note:
The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 and earlier devices only generate calories when there are steps or heart rate data.
2. Actively recorded calories, also called exercise calories, refer to the calorie value generated when you manually initiate exercise. It is mainly related to heart rate and personal information. The higher the heart rate and the longer the exercise time, the more calories are generated.
If you think the calorie data is abnormal, you can submit feedback and the relevant data will be analyzed.
