What to do if SIM card activation fails on a phone?

This issue is due to a failure in sending the activation SMS and please troubleshoot as follows:
1. Restart the phone and log out of the Xiaomi Account, then log in again;
2. Ensure that the phone can send SMS messages normally. If the phone cannot send regular SMS, SIM card activation will also fail;
3. Try using a different SIM card to determine whether the issue is with the phone or the SIM card (this issue is often due to the activation SMS not reaching the server);
4. If the issue persists with another SIM card, it is an issue with the phone. Consider performing a factory reset;
5. If another SIM card activates successfully, the problem is with the current SIM card. Please visit a service center to get a new SIM card;
6. If replacing the SIM card does not resolve the issue, please contact the after-sales service center for further assistance.
Additionally, if using a virtual SIM card or a number ported SIM card, activation failures will occur due to limitations of the third-party SMS channels.
Apart from the above steps, you can also refer to the following method:
1. Retry each time you see the "SIM card activation failed" alert in the notification shade;
2. After retrying 3-5 times, one of the retries will enter the “manual number entry” process. This process will activate the SIM card using an alternative method (this is particularly effective for virtual SIM cards and ported-number SIM cards);
3. If the manual entry process does not appear after 3-5 retries, or if entering the number once does not resolve the issue, it does not need to retry again. Instead, please reproduce the issue, capture the log of “*#*#284#*#*”, and submit the log in the feedback.
