Because the tire pressure of road bike is relatively high (some tire pressure may be up to 120psi), the air pressure between the Presta valve seal and the valve core is also high. If you quickly open the valve under high pressure, there is a possibility that the Presta valve internal seal will be washed out by the high air pressure due to the short pressure relief time.
