What are the advantages of the inner display type of Pol-less Plus of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 compared with OLED?
Conventional OLED: OLED Panel + polarizer. The polarizer stack is circular polarizer + linear polarizer. The main function is to reduce the reflection of ambient light. Low ambient light reflection means better display contrast and color accuracy.
Pol-less: Compared with the conventional OLED solution, the external polarizer is removed, and a layer of RGB film is made on the surface of the OLED Panel (RGB corresponds to RGB sub-pixels, and the gaps between sub-pixels use black material). Among them, the black material can achieve high efficiency absorption of the full wavelength of ambient light. RGB three primary color materials ensure the high transmittance of the display light emitted by OLED, further purify the color, and can also effectively absorb other wavelengths of light in the ambient light that are not the corresponding primary colors. Compared with the conventional OLED solution, the transmittance of this solution is increased from 43% to 57%.
Pol-less Plus: The RGB film material is further upgraded, and the transmittance is increased to 68%. Make the screen power consumption lower at the same brightness.
