Does the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 support unlocking phones?
Band unlocking is a one-on-one binding between the band and the phone. Within a safe distance, the band serves as an identity ID, which can replace entering the unlocking password or pattern. While ensuring security, it greatly improves the convenience of operation. The unlocking function of the phone is enabled in the [Mi Fitness] APP, and can only be used when the phone is Bluetooth connected to the band.
You can set it by referring to the following path:
Open the [Mi Fitness] APP >> [Device] >> [Unlock phone] >> set it as your preference.
After the lock screen password is set, please confirm the unlocking on the band to successfully bind it. You can choose the unlocking distance (close, moderate, slightly far).
To turn off this function, please refer to the following steps:
Open the [Settings] APP >> [Fingerprints, face data, and screen lock] >> [Unlock with Bluetooth device] >> [Unlock device] >> turn off the option.
Note:
Unlocking the phone function requires pairing with Xiaomi phones with MIUI 12 and above.
