Despite the earbuds being connected to the phone, audio from music, videos, or calls is still played through the speakers. It is due to the [Media audio] option is not selected. You can go to [Settings] >> [Bluetooth] >> [Xiaomi Buds 5] >> enable [Media audio] to complete this set.
Please refer to the following troubleshooting methods to resolve the sound issue:
1. Disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth in the phone’s settings to restore functionality;
2. Turn off Bluetooth on the phone, then turn it back on. The earbuds should automatically reconnect successfully;
3. Place both earbuds into the charging case, and press the case button for 2 seconds to initiate Bluetooth pairing again;
4. If the issue persists, attempt a factory reset: place both earbuds in the charging case, and open the lid. Press and hold the function button for 10 seconds until the indicator alternates blinking in orange and white, meaning the reset is complete.
