Why are the Xiaomi Buds 5 connected but there's no sound or the sound is choppy?

1. The earbuds can be affected by electromagnetic interference in your area, causing no sound;
2. Check your phone’s volume settings to ensure it’s not muted;
3. The phone is too far from the earbuds, exceeding the effective transmission distance (10m), or obstacles are blocking the signal;
4. If the phone is connected to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, the sound is coming from the second device, leaving the first one silent.
To resolve this issue, please refer to the following steps:
1. Ensure your earbuds are not in a highly interfering environment. Keep them away from objects with significant electromagnetic interference, such as microwaves;
2. Unmute your phone and increase the volume to see if the sound returns to normal;
3. Keep your phone and earbuds close together or reconnect them;
4. Disconnect the earbuds, put them back in the charging case, close the lid for 5 seconds, then open the lid and reconnect them to the phone. Alternatively, disconnect the phone from any other Bluetooth devices;
5. If none of the above steps work, try resetting the earbuds to factory settings. Place both earbuds in the charging case and open the lid. Press and hold the function button for 10 seconds until the indicator blinks in orange, then white, indicating the reset is complete.
