Why does the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E5 experience collisions, and what to do if it reports a collision board anomaly?

The main unit of the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E5 is equipped with an infrared obstacle sensor and a collision sensor at the front, which can detect obstacles ahead and autonomously plan to decelerate in advance to avoid collisions.
Here are some reasons why the device experiences collisions:
1. The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E5 comes with an infrared obstacle sensor and a collision sensor. The resolution and accuracy of the infrared sensor are slightly lower. Please wipe the front collision transparent window of the main unit with a soft dry cloth to ensure there are no fingerprints or dust;
2. The device will occasionally fail to detect obstacles when it is working under certain conditions such as darker-colored and highly reflective surfaces (like metal), transparent objects (like glass walls), small-sized table or chair legs, lower obstacles, and obstacles appearing in blind spots;
3. In low-light environments, the effectiveness of infrared obstacle avoidance will be reduced, resulting in poorer obstacle avoidance performance;
4. When the device encounters flexible obstacles such as curtains or partially closed doors, it will decelerate and lightly touch or avoid contact altogether. In such situations, the occasional light contact is normal;
5. If your home environment is complex with a lot of ground obstacles, the main unit will get trapped, leading to collisions while trying to free itself.
If the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E5 reports a collision board anomaly, please refer to the following steps:
1. Please tap the collision board to ensure it can bounce back;
2. Restart the main unit and try again.
