I can turn on the screen manually to unlock the face and enter the system. Will the face be detected when the screen is illuminated?

The notification lights up the screen. Face unlock is not supported by default. After entering the face data, you may go to Settings >> Lock Screen, Password and Fingerprint >> Face Data Management, and turn on "Allow detection of faces when notification is on the screen", which will increase a certain amount of power consumption.
