The screen is always black for incoming calls or during the calls

Solutions:
1. First of all, to confirm the use habits; during the call the face might trigger proximity sensors, so the black screen (extinguish screen) is normal. After the mobile phone is moved away from the face, the screen will automatically light up, which is convenient to record notes, or activate hands-free / application and other operations.
It is advised to use paper towels or cotton cloth to wipe the top of the mobile phone around the position of the proximity sensor to avoid the impact of facial oil on the sensor.
2. Confirm whether the film / toughened film (unofficial) or sticker have been used or not. If the film blocks the proximity sensor, this problem may occur (for example, the red box marking position in the picture above). Please remove the film / toughened film (unofficial), and try again.
3. It is suggested to enter the hardware detection (CIT mode) through inputting *#*#6484#*#*or *#*#64663#*#*. Select the "proximity sensor", and mask the proximity sensor by hand to see if the above values have changed 5 or 0. Whether the values change or not, tap "start calibration" to see if the calibration passes.
Note: some Redmi models (such as Redmi 1) can only be tested and cannot be calibrated.
4. If the calibration fails or the calibration is successful but the proximity sensor is still abnormal, back up all data and resume the phone to factory settings.
5. If all above don’t work, it is recommended to go to after-sale center for inspection.
