The Android 16 Developer Preview Program provides all the features needed to improve the compatibility and development of your application for the next version of Android. At present, Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro are available for the Android 16 Developer Preview Program, which is free for developers to use. Flash the preview build, and you will be able to use it immediately.
How to upgrade:
Method 1: Local Update
Please note: you need to upgrade to a product version that supports Android 16 Beta.
Xiaomi 15: OS2.0.109.0.VOCMIXM or higher.
Xiaomi 14T Pro: OS2.0.103.0.VNNMIXM or higher.
This upgrade method will erase all the contents of your phone. Please make sure to back up your data in advance.
Download the Android 16 Beta build for Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro.
Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
Go to Settings -> About phone -> Click "OS version" 10 times, then enter the developer mode.
Go back to Settings -> About phone -> Click on the system icon -> Click the "three dots" icon at the top-right corner -> Select "Choose update package" to enter, after choosing the right ROM upgrade package, your device will begin upgrading.

Method 2: Fastboot Update
1. Please ensure you have successfully applied for permission to unlock the bootloader before unlocking the device. Xiaomi HyperOS bootloader unlocking poses various security risks and may have unpredictable effects on the device. Applying for unlocking signifies that you fully understand the potential risks associated with unlocking and flashing and are willing to assume these risks. 2. Don’t forget to back up your data before upgrading to Android 16 Beta.
3. Download the Android 16 Beta build for Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro.
4. To opt-in to the Android 16 beta build, please follow the Fastboot Update tutorial.
If you would like to opt-out or revert to factory settings, you can try the Fastboot mode:
Step 1: Turn off the device.
Step 2: Press the Volume-down button and the Power button at the same time for 4-5 seconds to enter Fastboot mode.
