50 m water resistance refers to the atmospheric pressure standard (ATM or bar) tested by the laboratory under static water conditions. One atmosphere of pressure is equivalent to 10 meters of hydrostatic pressure. (Physically, every 10 meters of underwater depth increases the pressure by 1 atmosphere.)
Since the water flow in lakes, oceans, rivers, swimming pools, etc. is flowing, and people will inevitably move when entering the water, hence 50 m water resistance does not mean that the product can move underwater within 50 meters.
Tip:
At present, any Mi Watch and Mi Smart Band devices with water resistance function cannot be used in hot water (>40C°).
