Cast movies and shows to a TV

Description:
With a Chromecast device, you can play movies and shows from another device on your TV.
Some products and features aren't available in all countries. Learn more about what's available in your country.

iPhone & iPad:
Connect your iPhone or iPad and your Chromecast to the same wireless network.
On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Play Movies & TV app .
1.Tap Library  the Movies or TV shows tab.
2.Choose a movie or show.
3.Tap Cast .
4.From the list, select your Chromecast.
5.On the Google Play Movies & TV app, tap Play.
6.To disconnect: Tap Cast   select your device from the list.
Using a Mac
1.On your Mac, go to chrome://apps on your Chrome browser
2.Select 'Play Movies'.
3.At the top, click Cast .
4.Under 'Connect to a device', select your Chromecast from the device list.
5.Select and play a video.
6.To disconnect from your Chromecast, click Cast   Stop casting.

Android
Cast videos with a phone or tablet
1.Connect your phone or tablet and your Chromecast to the same wireless network.
2.On your phone or tablet, open Google Play Movies & TV .
3.At the bottom, tap Library  Movies or TV shows.
4.Select a movie or show.
5.Tap Cast .
6.Select your Chromecast from the list.
7.Tap Play.
Tip: You can pause, rewind or fast forward your video through the app or your device's notifications.

Stop casting to your TV
1.On your phone or tablet, tap Cast .
2.Select your Chromecast from the list.

Computer
Important: Before you stream videos, make sure that your computer and your Chromecast are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
1.On your computer, open Chrome .
2.Go to Google Play Movies & TV.
3.On the left, click My Movies & TV.
4.Under a movie or a show that you want to watch, click Play .
5.At the top, click Cast .
6.Select your Chromecast from the device list.
7.To disconnect, click Cast   Stop casting.
Video controls
You can pause, rewind or fast forward the video on your TV with the Google Play Movies player on your computer.
Tip: Keep the video player open when you use your computer with Chromecast. Your computer’s playback controls don’t work when:

• The video player is closed
• The computer is turned off
• Your Internet connection is lost

Cast videos with a Chromebook
If the Google Play Store is available on your Chromebook, you can cast videos from the Google Play Movies & TV app or the Google TV app. Learn which Chromebooks support Android apps.
1.On your Chromebook, open Google Play Movies & TV  or Google TV .
2.At the top of your video player, click Cast .
3.Under 'Connect to a device', select your Chromecast from the device list.
4.Select a video.
5.Click Watch.
6.To disconnect from your Chromecast, click Cast   Stop casting.
Add the Cast button to Chrome toolbar
You can pin the Cast button to your Chrome toolbar to easily access the Cast functionality from any web page.
1.In the top-right corner of the Chrome browser, click Menu   Cast.
2.Cast  will temporarily appear in your toolbar. Right-click on Cast   Always show icon.
Playback tips

• HD movie rentals play in HD on Chromecast, even if your phone isn't capable of HD playback.
• Chromecast continues to play your video when your phone or tablet runs out of battery. To access video controls again, connect another device to the Chromecast.
• To save battery, turn off your device’s screen during playback.
• If you're signed in to YouTube, make sure that you're signed in with the same Google Account.
