Function introduction
1. eMMC (Embedded MultiMediaCard), embedded non-volatile memory, is the standard specification of embedded memory established by MMC Association, which is mainly used in smart portable mobile devices (such as mobile phones, tablets, etc.).
2. Using the unified MMC standard interface, the flash memory device and the main controller are packaged in a BGA chip, so that the transmission speed can be as high as 50MB per second or even more than 3.3V, the voltage range 1.8V to 3.3V. With fast host response speed and read and write speed, it can greatly improve the boot and running speed of smart phone / tablet computer. According to the characteristics of Flash, Flash management technology has been included in the chip, including error detection and correction, flash average erasure, bad block management, power down protection and so on.
3. The eMMC version 4.5 standard was released by JEDEC solid State Technology Association, a leading standard-setting organization in microelectronics industry. On the basis of eMMC, the interaction between host processor and memory device in interface, configuration and protocol was improved, so as to improve the overall performance and reliability of the system, including the interface bandwidth from 104megabytes per second to 200megabytes per second. By packaging instructions (the ability to centralize a series of instructions in a single data operation), background identification (performing several
different memory operations in the same identity so that the device can understand their relevance), and data tags (tagging specific write operations to prioritize and store them in a higher performance and reliability storage area), the instruction protocol has been improved significantly. It also provides the partition properties of system code and temporary data improvement, a separate data elimination mechanism, real-time clock acquisition function, non-volatile data cache function, which can greatly reduce the delay of data exchange, thus improving the performance of the product system.
