Function introduction:
IP67 refers to the mobile phone industry protection safety level. IP is the abbreviation of Ingress Protection Rating (or International Protection code), and it defines an interface to face liquid and solid particles protection ability.
The IP is followed by a 2-digit number, the first is a solid state protection level, ranging from 0 to 6, indicating protection from large particle foreign bodies to dust, and the second is liquid protection, with a range of 0 to 8, indicating protection from vertical water droplets to bottom pressure.
The larger the number, the stronger the ability. The explanation of IP67 is to protect dust inhalation (prevent contact as a whole, protect dust penetration) and protect against temporary immersion (anti-immersion).
At present, the highest implementation in the wiring industry is the IP67 level. In addition, industrial connectors have temperature, seismic and other considerations for other harsh environment.
Note:
Protection level (the first number in the code)
0: no protection
1: prevent solid particles with the diameter of 50mm or even larger or solid particles with the diameter of 50mm cannot fully penetrate
2: prevent solid particles with the diameter of 12.5mm or even larger or solid particles with the diameter of 12.5mm cannot fully penetrate
3: prevent solid particles with the diameter of 2.5mm or even larger or solid particles with the diameter of 2.5mm cannot penetrate
4: prevent solid particles with the diameter of 1mm or even larger or solid particles with the diameter of 1mm cannot penetrate
5: Dust protection: it cannot completely prevent dust from entering, but it will not prevent the normal operation of the instrument and reduce the safety.
6: Dust entrapment: dust cannot enter the object, and the whole diameter of the object cannot exceed the clearance protection.
Level of the shell (the second number in the code)
0: No Protection
1: Vertical falling water droplets do not cause harmful effects.
2: when the shell can be raised up to 15°, the vertical falling water droplets do not exceed 15°at any angle on either side of the vertical shell, vertical falling water droplets will not cause harmful effects
3: Waterproof, spray on any vertical side at any angle not exceeding 60° will not cause harmful effects.
4: Anti-splashing, splash water on the shell from any direction will not cause harmful effects
5: Anti-spray, spray water on the shell from any direction will not cause harmful effects
6: Prevention of strong spray, spray from any direction against the shell will not cause harmful effects
7: Short time immersion, at room temperature and pressure, when the shell is temporarily immersed in water as deep as 1 meter, it will not cause harmful effects
8: Prevention of continuous immersion, under circumstances that both manufacturers and users agree, under harsher conditions than 7, continuous immersion in water will not cause harmful effects.
