It is normal for the TDS value displayed in the Xiaomi Home App for the Mijia Smart Water Purifier N800G to rise briefly before decreasing. The RO membrane operates through reverse osmosis, separating dissolved salts and impurities from the water under pressure generated by the booster pump.
When the water tap is closed and the purifier stops producing water, the pump stops pressurizing, and pressure across the RO membrane gradually drops. At this stage, solutes concentrated in front of the membrane shift slightly backward, causing a temporary increase in the TDS reading of the purified water.
This temporary fluctuation does not indicate a malfunction or compromised water quality. Once the purifier resumes operation, the TDS value quickly stabilizes, reflecting normal purification efficiency and ensuring safe, high-quality drinking water.
